speaking of Springer...
we are getting closer to George coming back to the Astros
just 2 years left on his Blue Jays contract
We don't need an aging right handed outfielder who's way overpaid.

We offered 6/156 publicly and Ketch said privately he got a bigger one from us and a bigger one yet from someone else.
That's 6 years and $30 AaV. I have no clue what he's waiting for
Then he's nuts. If I were the GM I would have taken the 6/156 contract offer, scratched out the 6 and put a 7 in its place and said "Sure. There you go. Seven years just like you wanted."Beat40 said:Mathguy64 said:

Whoever is driving the bus (Alex or Boras) is driving in the desert at night, with no lights and no GPS all while wearing MIB standard issue Ray Bans.

And JR absolutely OWNED the Dodgers! LOLMathguy64 said:The Beef01 said:Oh I'd fully agree on Dierker.jja79 said:
Probably not many people my age here so most never saw him. Larry Dierker definitely belongs. In the majors at 17, played on some horrendous teams but won 137 games, pitched a no hitter, first 20 game winner, great broadcaster and Astros manager. He was absolutely a horse.
Jim Wynn would have hit who knows how many HR playing in the current band box. When he played the dimensions of the dome were 340 down the lines, 390 in the alleys and 406 to center.
The guy who is missing from the list who an old scout I grew-up learning from would talk about was J.R. Richard...insisted that Richard would be mentioned among the greats in the game had the stroke not ended his career very prematurely.
JRR was the right handed Randy Johnson of his time.
People who never saw him just cannot fathom how scary he was in the early years when he really had no control.

I'm expecting a few nostalgia signings of former players from the 2017 & 2022 title teams
at the end of their careers
1-year deals and such

What if by then the team is mostly younger guys and would benefit from a veteran presence, similar to when we brought Beltran in for 2017?
The Tigers have been unwilling to meet Alex Bregman's $200M asking price, but notable progress has been made over the last month. 👀 https://t.co/wL0eWJefNK pic.twitter.com/7kIFYGwVa3

His 210 career HR would be park adjusted to 158 if he played in Detroit. Between the dimensions and cold weather early and late I would think it would be a rough place for him to play. But I'm not the GM in Detroit. What do I know.EastCoastAgNc said:The Tigers have been unwilling to meet Alex Bregman's $200M asking price, but notable progress has been made over the last month. 👀 https://t.co/wL0eWJefNK pic.twitter.com/7kIFYGwVa3

I don't think his swing would do well in Detroit

No big deal, Boras has offers bigger than what Detroit is offering anyway.....EastCoastAgNc said:The Tigers have been unwilling to meet Alex Bregman's $200M asking price, but notable progress has been made over the last month. 👀 https://t.co/wL0eWJefNK pic.twitter.com/7kIFYGwVa3

Trade news: The Chicago Cubs are acquiring utilityman Vidal Bruján from the Miami Marlins for first baseman Matt Mervis, sources tell ESPN. The deal is done. Both are former top 100 prospects looking to carve out at-bats in a new location.
