Losing Schloss was a massive mistake, losing Buzz is arguable. He's done some good things, but not much to warrant his contract. I think he's paid like a top 10 coach. 6 years and 0 sweet 16's is not top 10.
He can get rid of the women's bball coach.

If Buzz leaves I won't shed a tear, I'm ready for a new brand of basketball to be honest. And yes I will still think this even if we make it to the second weekend of the tournament

Mistake? How do so many in here still not understand it... We didn't lose Schloss. He was NEVER going to stay. There was nothing we could do about it.
It wasn't a mistake because we had no say in it.
While I don't think Buzz will ever get it done here, I don't have any faith that we'd hire anyone better….

I'd take the same level of production with a more enjoyable offense and worse defense. Would make games much more enjoyable to watch.

This is bull***** Auburn and Alabama didn't have big histories prior to their current coaches. Yet it took their current coaches proving themselves and then the money followed.
The exact same thing can happen here.
I don't know how miraculous it is if four consecutive coaches have been "this good".

They put significant investments in their BB program. We have a multi-use center, NIL sucks, and we don't, as an admin, care about BB. Never have. Erego the coaches we get.
That's why we have a multiuse center as our basketball arena.

We've had 4 straight pretty good - but not great - coaches here. This is our ceiling. Coach K or the ghost of John Wooden ain't walking through that door. If Buzz stays, this is our ceiling. If he leaves, we'll find someone else to (hopefully) bump up against this same ceiling.

Before Buzz A&M had 0 E8's and 6 S16's.
Their fans and donors made big impacts after their current coaches gave them a reason to.

Look up what he makes and where his team will be seeded. It should line up pretty well.

I didn't even remember we were playing since we've sucked recently. His coaching style has taken the joy out of Aggie basketball. Combined with the results of this "senior-laden team" - it's unwatchable.

All that matters is tournament wins. No one remembers anything else long term. It's also how coaches are rated. No one cares what you do in the regular season.
We brought Buzz in because he had coached here before and he had previous tournament success. He hasn't had that level of success here - and if he can't coach an offense, he won't ever have any success here.
My prediction is that we run into a team shooting the 3 at a high clip - and lose in the first round.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Refreshing to see that some people still have common sense. There's not a good basketball coach in the world that's clamoring to come here. Our fans suck and very few have actual basketball knowledge. We're a football and even baseball school before basketball. Our basketball facilities are average at best. We've never really been any good but have "fans" that piss and moan when we make the NCAAT as a 3/4 seed. There's literally nothing to gain by coming here. It's never going to be good enough.
Then you have Buzz. One of the best coaches we've ever had. He's a Texas guy who chose to come here and would likely retire here. He's a good dude and runs a clean program. 2x SEC coach of the year. Multiple tournament appearances. Sure he hasn't had a deep run, but any other coach worth a damn would've left for a basketball school by now. Grass ain't always greener. Be thankful for what you've got or we'll be in the Melvin Watkins era again before you know it. Try that for complaining.

We're gonna be a 3 or 4 seed in the NCAAT and we have chucklehead fans who say we're "unwatchable". Ask any other team seeded worse or not making the tournament, if they'd switch with us. About a 99% clip.

Sheesh. What a bunch of crybabies.
Early exit from the conference tournament is great for us. We'll still get a 3 seed and will beat Auburn or Houston in the Elite Eight game to get to the Final Four in San Antonio.
I don't disagree with the assertion that A&M is destined to continue to be what they've been. I was just pointing out that you can't call it a miracle when four coaches in a row have done the same thing. The miracle would be BCG's run if we had gone back to 15 years of Watkins-level play after Gillespie left.
