Bucky is better in every aspect - coach, person, communicator, likability, etc. and we are all thrilled to have him representing A&M.
I am glad we were able to get a program reset with his exit and fully believe we're better off with Bucky, but I don't get being upset with how he left. Sure it was late in the cycle, but the whole "poached the roster" complaint in the portal era doesn't make sense to me. If Buzz was leaving, none of the few guys we had were likely staying here regardless of whether they followed Buzz or went elsewhere. He had Rice on a visit here when he took the job, so sure he followed as well, but it isn't like Rice was coming to A&M for A&M, it would have been for Buzz. This is all just a product of the way the game works now when a coach leaves or is fired. If we really wanted to keep certain guys from last year's team, we could have paid up to do so, similar to what Texas did. We wisely chose not to because it would have been overpaying for replaceable players.
This is not even me defending Buzz, its just not understanding being upset about how it went down. It is still fun to watch him lose now and know that Maryland would have been us and I'm sure glad we're on a different trajectory.
