James McAvery was on Fallon the other night. in the clip they showed, past Xavier is sitting on stairs, Wolverine tells him that he knows Xavier doesn't have his powers. I wonder if he somehow gave up his powers to regain the ability to walk. and will have to lose his legs again to get his powers back and save the world.

When Fassbender was on Fallon earlier in the week they showed a clip where Xavier told Magneto that his treatments for his spine were impacting his powers.

I hate it when that happens.

Can't he just inject some midichlorians?

First review I have seen. I had a feeling that Evan Peters was getting an unfair rap by the public for quicksilver. According to this he has one of the strongest parts while dinklages character wasn't the most exciting. Overall it seems like a strong film at least according to this review

Watching the box office should be interesting. First Class was acclaimed (87% RT), but made VERY little money. Not even $150M domestic, which was less than its production budget.

It made 350 million worldwide. Not as good as the others, but not bad by any means.

And DoFP has Jackman as Wolverine. It will probably be the highest grossing one yet.

It made money overall, yes, but it was a long way from a blockbuster. I just think it gets overlooked.

I'm with Panther, having Wolverine will make this movie extremely successful. He is the character that nearly everybody seems to want to see time and time again

Plus you have Jennifer Lawrence, who wasn't that well known at the time of First Class, but has since made 2 Hunger Games movies.

They have been promoting her more and more it seems, her and Jackman almost exclusively because they know they sell. Plus it seems her role is very large in the movie.

Both First Class and The Wolverine opened at $55. Spider Man 2 'only' opened to $91 two weeks ago.

My guess is that, while this movie will do better than First Class, it will still only open to around $65-70 million and will probable top out at around $160 million domestically. The abysmal X3 was the highest grossing in the series, with each successive film making less. This one will buck that trend, but I don't see it hitting $200 million much less overtake the $234 million X3 did.

I'd like to add the only reason I didn't see First Class in theaters was because it was following the travesty that was X3. I finally watched it on HBO one night and loved it. I can't imagine I was the only one who thought X-Men was beyond saving at that time
