John Mayer was fantastic Sunday night in Houston. Fourth time seeing him and maybe the best. Didn't hurt we had 17th row dead center floor seats.

It was "An Evening With..." setup so they came out and did 10 songs, then took a break, then back out for 12 more (first three solo acoustic), plus a 2 song encore.

Very simple but awesome stage setup.

Saw Geoff Tate last night at a small local venue. He still sounds incredible and his band is fantastic.

It's the 30th anniversary of Operation: Mindcrime, and he did the entire album, plus the 4 main songs from Empire.

He should be on stage here in about 30 minutes or so.

That was an amazing show. 5 1/2 hours of nonstop music. At least 6 or 7 RRHOF'ers on that stage tonight.

I stopped listening to Queensryche when Chris DeGarmo left the band. It's been pretty sad, bordering pathetic - what's happened to them in recent years.

Iron Maiden was incredible, one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

I was a little worried about how Bruce's voice would sound but he sounded fantastic. The rest of the boys absolutely killed. I had heard that their show's are over the top but I was unprepared. They opened with a huge airplane prop that they used for only one song. Each song had it's own background, props, and stage effects, it was extremely impressive. If you still have a chance to go see them on this tour do yourself a favor and go.

Yep, Iron Maiden was pretty awesome. Thought they looked and sounded as good as when I saw them 30 years ago.

Although,...

Poor old Janick Gers is kind of an afterthought throughout. Stuck over on the far right side, he's left to spinning his guitar around his neck, showing his flexibility by propping his leg up at a 90 degree angle and getting twisted up in cords. Couldn't help think of Spinal Tap every time I looked at him.

Saw the Doobie Brothers. Johnston Simmons, and McFee were there, along with Billy Payne of Little Feat. It was a really good show, but a few too many "deep tracks". After the break they played all the big hits and it was pretty awesome.

"A Note from Lars, Kirk, and Rob

We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must postpone our upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand.

As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.

We fully intend to make our way to your part of the world as soon as health and schedule permit. We'll let you know as soon as we can. Once again, we are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who travel great distances to experience our shows. We appreciate your understanding and support for James and, as always, thank you for being a part of our Metallica family.

All tickets purchased to the shows in Australia and New Zealand, including Enhanced Experiences and Black Tickets, will be fully refunded. More details on how to obtain your refund are below.

Sucks about Hetfield. Man I really hope he doesn't go off the deep end. They still have so much left in them. Just thinking of Cornell and how sudden and unexpected that was.. God I don't even want to think about it. Lars, Kirk, Rob and Hetfield family hopefully keep a real close eye on him.

That is a pretty packed two weeks. We were trying to get tickets for Saturday at ACL really more for the Cure who I haven't seen live but with Billie Elish tickets are out there for the one day
Got Billy Joel on the 12th if we don't find a buyer due to potential conflict

Billie will be crazy. I just saw her about 3 weeks ago at Music Midtown Festival and she had a good crowd of campers since the morning. I expect most of them to leave before The Cure tho, leaving us with a good crowd for them.

Well I'm pissed.. I missed Ghost the last two times they came to town because it was on my kid's bday weekend. This time they come two weeks before my kid's bday, so I get a ticket. I buy ticket in March, put event in my iphone, but I didn't ******* go last night because apparently I didn't set an alert!

I've missed a few things lately because there is no alert. Why is an alert not the default option? I just started using this calendar to remember stuff, but it doesn't no F-in good if it doesn't alert me, and forces me to remember to set the alert!

Man I'm mad.
