How is White Oak? I've some how managed to not see anything there yet but got tickets for Jenny Lewis in April. What is the set up there?

They've got the lawn for their bigger shows. It's a nice setup but the shows aren't as loud as they should be and always end early because of the agreement with the neighbors. The indoor downstairs room hosts a lot of shows and is similar to house of blues with a balcony over it but everything is general admission. The indoor upstairs room is small and intimate and I love seeing shows here because you can get real close to the band you are seeing.

Only been inside for one show (Matt & Kim) but really enjoyed it.

It looks like the outside shows start a tad earlier to account for the early end. At least the VW ticket says 6:30 as opposed to usual 7:00 doors.

Got my VIP M&G for Billie Eilish at the Greek in LA. Her tour sold out in less than an hour. 3 LA shows and about 7 venues were upgraded, as well as second dates in NYC, Chicago (a 2 pm show lol), and SLC.

Cursive last night was awesome at White Oak.

It was inside but the second floor/balcony area was curtained off. Maybe 300 people were there. Kind of surprised, but made for an intimate show. They were on my bucket list and didn't dissappoint.

Jason Isbell / Father John Misty tour announced. Playing White Oak in Houston.

LOVE Isbell but I've seen him the last two tours here. Never listened to FJM. I remember reading a short Q&A with him in Rolling Stone once that made him sound like a complete arsehole. Maybe I need to get past that and give his music a chance.

FJM is fantastic live. He is one of those performers that really connect with the music and the audience. You can't take your eyes off him. His music can be a bit dark and cynical but I've grown to really enjoy it. Stoked Isbell will be with him. FJM even has a reference to Isbell in his song Mr. Tillman.

His WTF interview with Marc Maron left me with the same impression and I've had a hard time enjoying his music ever since. Which is weird for me because I'm usually good at separating the artist from their art, FJM is one for whatever reason I can't.

Haven't heard the WTF interview, but I agree, I can't just seem to get past his persona. And I've read that FJM is really just a "character" that Josh Tillman (his real name) inhabits. Maybe so, but so far I don't get the joke.

I hate to miss Isbell but damn my concert budget is hurting with all these shows, and if it's a co-headliner show then it won't be as full as a set. Plus I've seen him twice in the last year and a half alone with amazing full sets.

Decisions.

FYI, the presale password is FJMISBELL and it starts at 10:00 this morning.

Bought a ticket for American Football at White Oak last weekend. FYI, paying cash at the box office saved me a bunch in fees.

Also planning to see John Maus at Warehouse Live next week and Swervedriver/Failure there in March.

Bought tickets over the weekend for Chris Stapleton in Shreveport this August. Has anyone here seen Stapleton? How is his live show?

Also got REK and Turnpike Troubadors in July.

Now I need some metal in my concert diet. Planning to get some Iron Maiden tickets later on. Just cant decide whether to take the family to that one or go solo.

Seen Stapleton twice. He is excellent live. I was thinking about hitting that same show. You MUST catch the opening, Marcus King Band. They are incredible.

We are all-in when we go to concerts. Start to finish. We'll make sure to catch the opening acts. I think Marty Stuart is opening as well.

Can confirm, Marcus King Band will more than likely blow you away compared to Stapleton. Stapleton is good live, MKB is great
