I'm staying at my brother's house for the whole trip, so I'll likely be doing something with his family on saturday night since I don't see them often. But he's coming with me to the Friday show, and we'll be heading downtown earlier in the day for dinner and beers somewhere.

Just got tickets for Mastodon and Coheed & Cambria in Austin.

Mastodon is doing Crack the Skye in its entirety, which is pretty much my motivation to go to this show.

Just saw that as well.... not sure I'm up for an outdoor amphitheater show in August but after seeing Isbell at the Toyota Music Factory at the end of June, I'll know if I can handle it I guess.

Lots of shows on sale for $20 all in this week through livenation concert week.

Knotfest, zac brown, candlebox, AIC/Korn, Garbage, 311, smashing pumpkins, bush/live, alice cooper..

Very tempted to pull trigger on Jimmy Eat World. Last two summers they come to Houston as opener for really crappy headliners. I keep waiting for a headlining tour but for $20 would be worth a summer evening.

Picked up the ones I wanted on the 20 dollar deal but good god was the ticketmaster site a mess. Three of the orders I made crashed on check out (luckily they did go through and i got a confirmation email). The Jimmy Eat World and Knotfest tickets didn't show up under the deal until an hour after it started. And when I tried to refresh the concert pages it would throw me into this weird waiting area and take a couple minutes each time for the site to refresh.

It's 2019, ticketmaster should be able to handle the increased website traffic, your whole business is based around thousands of people showing up at a site at once, you should be prepared for when it happens.

The waiting area (or queue) is a standard thing now for high volume show. I experienced it with the metallica S&M shows..

You can enter the queue 15 minutes before on sale time, it randomly assigns a spot to you.. then at go time, you have a little guy walking in place that shows you how many people are in front of you.

What night? I am going the second one. Pretty excited as I didnt get to see them on their last tour..the one time I saw them was also in NOLA at Voodoo 2014.

Us, too. The 2nd show. Originally set for 1st show but that was a Thursday. This time around the 1st show is a Wednesday and that didn't work into travel plans. Kinda preferred Trombone Shorty as opener but sure it'll be great regardless.
