How long do you want to ignore this user?
Fair enough, I guess I just wanted to like it and have been extremely bored by it. I'll finish it up, but save you guys from hearing me rant

I don't know, this was the first episode that really made me roll my eyes. I can't put my finger on why, exactly, but the pacing was off, the gang-going-after-the-monster vibe felt weird, and whoever wrote this episode has clearly never been to the south, as the dialogue/colloquialisms were so bad and cliche. Also, whatever mystery was left has all but evaporated by now. I do like the adults-coming-together-to-kill-"It" vibe at the end, and I'm still interested to see where these final two episodes go, but man, that was such an odd episode all around.

Holy hell. That episode was so creepy. And the non believer becomes a believer.

They finally catch up to Claude and then everyone has to go run ****ing errands.

That was so weird. This episode was basically, "We need to be with Claude," *they drive to Claude*, "Ok, we need to run errands." *Credits* I kept waiting for something to actually happen on that side of things and the big development was... the lawyer and the other PI merrily showing up at the very end.

Kept waiting for Ralph to also leave, thus leaving the brothers home alone, and reasonable doubt to set in.

Exciting episode after a few weeks of getting stale.

I didn't mind the errand thing. To me it's like... they want to believe it, but they're still not really sure so they're all gung ho to go but get there and it's boring.

This episode was a bit weird though but I can't really put my finger on why.

I was feeling cavestock though.

Btw, why is the monster now in the same town as Claude? Story-wise, why did everyone suddenly have to take a trip to another town? Couldn't Claude have just quit the strip club but stayed in the same town, thus making more sense why the monster happens to be there as well? I know why *Claude* said he had to get out of town, but why did the monster "follow"?

I thought it was in a different town than Terry, but I guess that was after he killed.

He followed Terry from Ohio to Georgia, and killed the kid when Terry went to that conference.

I think following is part of the whole scheme by El Cucuy in order to put the blame on him. What if it never followed Terry Maitland back to Georgia? It would be kind of hard to pin the murder on him if he was half way across the country when it happens.

Agreed, it just felt off to me as well. Like they had everything laid out for the beginning through the middle, they have the ending laid out, but maybe they couldn't work out this part of the story...which is troubling. The main thing I had an issue with is with Terry they had him on video, and witnesses at the time of the murder...but it didn't matter. So they have multiple cops with Claude at night, all of which are sleeping, they couldn't even say faithfully that they were with him every minute, they didn't take turns just staying in the room with him throughout the night. It would make way more sense if he stayed locked up and there were people in the room with him every minute, and a camera running. Nope, lets get him out of jail and we'll all just hang out, and sleep...how are all these people sleeping while battling the embodiment of evil and they have a key piece of their puzzle?

To me it would have made way more sense if things were starting to fall apart, the stress getting to each of the characters in different ways with the exception of Ralph. If he was buying in when they were going the other way it would be more interesting to me. If something happened or was discovered that didn't align with their hypothesis it would cause fracture and doubt heading into the last couple of episodes when everyone needs to be aligned. That conflict would be a lot more interesting than what they did in episode 8.

I will say though the sounds that were being made while the entity was eating...bone chilling, like what in the absolute f is making that sound?

When he threw the piece of flesh at Jack, it was a shocking example of the pure evil of El Cuco.

I was blown away the whole episode and thoroughly entertained.

I also thought the monster was like... influencing Claude. (for lack of a better word.)

Like he didn't have any desire to leave town until after he got scratched, but then he started not being able to sleep and left town to go see his brother or whatever.

I kind of figured it didn't like killing in the same place twice so it sort of haunted Claude until he left town and then followed.

Claude just had to stay in jail one more day. Stupid writing. No reason to have him released.

Wouldn't it have been stupider writing to have them keep him in jail for no reason?

Also, I'm imagining the local cops there at the end going "wtf, would someone please tell us wtf is going on?" when Holly and Ralph are staring at each other

They already had the Georgia police call in a favor to pick him up. What is an additional 12 or 24 hours? They could have even told him that same story and said he was better off staying there a few days. Instead, they had four cops, plus two more people shacking up in his criminal brothers house with nobody documenting the isolated condition of the guy they were supposed to be setting up an ironclad alibi for. The same abduction attempt while the suspect is in jail could have been a better storyline.

I do think it would have made more sense to at least have someone in the room with him, but I think he had to get out of jail.

No but it would definitely explain how tired and beat down he seemed through everything.

Terry was an all American dad and an Incredible coach. When the show started I thought jason Bateman was doing a poor acting job bc he was so lethargic, but now I understand why.

Here is the one questing I had while watching:

The monster usually makes himself seen in order to leave witnesses and stuff to pin the "victims" before it murders. Was it just getting desperate like Holly said, or is that an oversight to have it in a mask the whole time before taking the kid?

I think this was addressed by Ralph waking up in the middle of the night to find Claude paranoid and looking for El Cuco.

I think that it would've made it evident he killed the kid afterwards. But he still needs to be able to sneak away from everyone to murder him.
bobinator

It was addressed, but it would still make more sense if they at least showed us that one of the people was keeping an eye on him at all times. Sleeping in shifts outside his room or something. Or even just like set up a camera or something.

As some people have pointed out, he could have walked out of the back door of the house or something and nobody would have even been awake to see it, kind of defeating the whole point.
