Filming doesn't equal exact stories defined. They shoot tons of extra film and plan for variations of endings, directions, etc., through editing. Do you realize how many films had enough footage filmed to have multiple, very different endings. This is old as TV and movies. Ever wonder why Ben Cartwright in Bonanza had the same shirt and vest in every episode? As well as Little Joe, Hoss, etc. Episodes were pieced together from footage all over the place.

Other subplots reveled but not talked about yet - barrel racer girls are just looking for a good time. Jimmie's girl seems to really be for him - he might be dead though or paralyzed. The other gal is just ****ing around (yeah, pun intended). Walker and Lloyd are going to have it out - man, did Walker throw down a line with Lloyd when the blond was getting out of his bed.

Guess all the deeding the Yellowstone over to the NAs in Tate's name talk was way off.

Think it's a mix. Jamie is behind the hit on John and maybe Beth (but the CEO & Roarke could be behind Beth - mail bomb is a Yemen approach). Kayce is an odd one. Kayce has stood by Jaime always. But, he would be a rival. And he hasn't had any run ins with ME.

Think Jimmie is toast. Though, could see both Jimmie and Beth be paralyzed.

Overall, disappointed. Trying too hard and each hit was too coincidental and had way too many variables to have the timing all perfect. I mean, killing the lady with the flat tire shows she wasn't part of the plan and someone with a real flat - the kid too, seriously?!

Yeah, maybe kid wasn't hit. Lady definitely was killed to eliminate witnesses but I really don't believe she was in on it. The van seemed to be ready to go on toward the ranch where John was heading and then backup up surprised he was there on the side of the road - that's why they asked his name.

Pretty blah season ending still. But, as I've said, it's for the masses, beautiful scenery, modern western, great cast, etc. so, I'm no where close to even thinking if not watching. Think Taylor is better with movies though - I've watched Hell or High Water countless times. Although, I'm sure this series is more committee driven.

Rainwater et al. have to have more in store next season. They've been really quiet this season except for killing the rapist.

Edit: just rewatched and the kid isn't shot.

They just left the meeting where they thought going in they'd get the land, but have time to send a bomb to Beth's office same day, a hit on Kayce, round up some dudes to hop in a van and get John Dutton before he gets home after he just left the meeting? They had no beef with a Kayce in any episode, so why even target him? The Indians were still on the way home as well.....but then there's Jaime.....he hates Beth, pissed at John, and if he takes out Kayce he's the sole heir!!

Nope, Kayce's inheritance would pass on to Tate. As he's underage, his share would be placed in a trust and have a trustee (that could be a relative, corporate trustee, etc.). Depending on who that trustee is, it could seriously complicate Jaime's plans. Depends on how John structured his will. Also, if he knocked off everyone, there's no way he isn't found out and convicted. It has to be a mix.

All of the Duttons were targeted with the exception of Jaime. I am leaning in the direction of Jaime's father doing this . Being an ex-con because of murder would lead me to think he would have the contacts to do the hits.

Don't know if this has been said but it seems to me if Jamie planned this he would have definitely sent someone after Rip. He knows Rip is the muscle of the family and would be coming after him with a vengeance.
