It looked like Rip was about to fall out when he saw Walker. Something is on the horizon.

And the horizon is a rift with Kayce as he was the one who spared Walker. Rip's stern stare was knowing Kayce has his own MO.

Yes, 100%. I think Rip goes ape on Kaycee. Could even be that the build up is Kaycee accidentally killing Rip in a fight. We shall see.

Oh man. That makes Kayce's comment about he did what he always seems to have to do: kill or be killed even more ominous. I never considered that Rip might go down by someone in the family and then Beth would hate BOTH of her brothers. Damn.

Yep. Beth vs. the brothers. Kayce has commented twice that Jaime is his brother and has his loyalty regardless of anything. There's probably going to be something from their childhood come out but Jaime saved Kayce's butt several times in season one from going to jail for killings. Monica is also growing from being a naive little girl into a stone cold killer who feels the need (and desire) to kill when called for. When she said "no wonder we are married, we're exactly alike" after the rapist getting his head blown off and reading about Kayce killing the rustlers.

Really think this season ends with a lot of cliffhangers and might be a meh season overall as it seems to be way too much to solve in two more episodes. My bet is last scene is a fight between Kayce and Rip and not knowing until next season if Rip lives - kind of like JR getting shot on Dallas. Maybe it's Kayce but Rip dying will be a huge hit to the show but Kayce dying would end the show.

John Dutton has never been in a situation where there weren't alternative moves. It will be interesting to see whether the threat of eminent domain forms the bond between John and Rainwater. Perhaps with the land being transferred to the Native American Indians to prevent the loss via eminent domain to the government and ultimately to the developers. And with John having a side deal with Rainwater that would satisfy both as to what that might look like.

I'm still curious as to what Morrow "has" that was John's -- and which John "wants back."

And I'd be hard pressed to believe that Rip would seek retribution against Kayce. He might be angry that Walker's still alive, but his loyalty to John and knowing the impact of losing Kayce would have on John would override his need for retribution against Kayce, IMO. Now against Walker? That's another story.

I'd like Monica to die. Whiniest character ever (even worse than Jamie) Literally can't be happy.

But I forgot that Kaycee was supposed to kill Walker. That does lend to trouble. Walker should've gone much farther away, they mentioned the horse place was over six hours, but really he should've gone to another part of the country.

The smartest thing to do would be just to walk out of the bar and let it go, but I don't think Rip will do that. Oddly, I don't think Walker would ever turn them in, but that's not how Rip will see it.

Of all the times for Kaycee to go soft, he choses the time when it involves Jamie. I thought it was really stupid to involve Walker at the time with the cover up, should've gone to the tried and true guys, but I think they were trying to test him and keep him bound to them. He was involved too.

I too believe this will pit Kayce and Rip against each other with Beth in the middle. I mean, God forbid Beth and Rip finally be happy.

I'm really hoping Teeter and Colby are okay. Next week says the bunkhouse "defends" them, so hopefully they're alive.

Next two episodes will be interesting.

I'll call my shot and say no way they kill off Rip, who has to be the most popular character in the series.

I'm just waiting for Rip and Lloyd to "finish the job" with Walker as soon as that song is over.

Walker is on probation since his release from prison. He can't leave the state else he'd be a fugitive. One would assume six hours away should suffice.

This one is being drawn out way too long with just two minute scenes in each episode. Get on with it Taylor.

I thought it was cool they bought the cutting horse to take back on the show circuit and to remind people "they still exist". Mirrors what the King Ranch did a few years ago in real life which allowed them to aggressively market their cow horses again.

Interesting! What a twist that would be.

John watching the cutting horses handling cattle is the best thematic reinforcement yet. It's actually got a bit of subtlety.

So, the Killer takes a turnoff with Monica but when he runs her down and tries to kill her, he is shot by a sniper in place. As the good guys roll up, they start to find other bodies. How was the sniper already in place?

For you turds who hates Monica so much and thought she'd ruin the season, she showed a lot of sack by luring the killer. (Tough for a girl to do)

Also, Kayce is not a cold blooded killer of innocents. His killings were in defending the Ranch against bad guys. Rip and John Dutton have killed in cold blood - even a Jamie capped that investigative reporter. No way Kayce would murder Walker just because Walker didn't see eye to eye with Rip and the bunkhouse rules.

yeah wondered about that immediately. only think I could think was she had a tracker on her, but still would be nigh impossible to follow along and set up as a sniper that fast.

I thought maybe they knew he was taking her to that specific location so they knew where to set up. But finding human remains at the site seemed like a surprise to them. So who knows.

I concur. I explained this to my wife last night and she said she would not watch the series anymore if Rip was killed off. 49 year old women and their fantasies. At least us 49 year old men have Beth. Hope they don't kill Rip off.

The bad guys want 50,000 acres of Dutton land to build an airport. For reference DFW airport takes up 17,000 acres. That's pretty ludicrous.

As for the Duttons losing the ranch due to property taxes, if a rancher can't cover the property taxes with land like that, they must be some special type of incompetent. Maybe cut back on the shiny new dually trucks and the championship cutting horses. Call in Dave Ramsey already.

Rip will kill Kayce in self defense but Beth and John will never forgive him. Meanwhile we still have Monica and grandson.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I looked up were other airports. The only thing I'm assuming is they're wanting a small town built around the airport.

And, yep, same on the property taxes. As a rancher, I've been thinking the entire time that's been a lame take. Property taxes are also vastly different from recreational/home versus agricultural use. I own land in different states and it's the same in all - with agricultural use being way lower compared to other uses - and I'm sure Montana is the same. The threat of eminent domain is real though. Eminent domain is suppose to be for government use but things changed a while back and it's used in some states for a conduit to developers (which is very shady in my old timers book).

Yeah, the airport is just one of the inroads they're using to sell the state on eminent domain.

Not related to Yellowstone, I just watched Acts of Violence, stars Rip (Cole Hauser). He plays a similar character as Rip, a bad arse. Also has Bruce Willis. Not that great of a movie, but not terrible either. I think Cole Hauser has found his niche.

They aren't going to kill either one off. Both are too important to the series at this point. They may hav them fight, but that's it.

Beth is shorting the Corporation's stock "borrow" stock from a broker, sell it on the market, hope the price goes down, buy it at a lower price, return the "borrowed" shares and pocket the difference. Fo example, if the stock is selling for $100, sell it, if the price goes down to $50, buy the stock and return the "borrowed" shares (or pay the "loan") and you pocket $50. They aware driving the price down by causing problems with the Corporation's attempted purchase, which is in question, and by the shear volume of purchases/sales at lower prices. It's reducing the Corporation's market capitalization which affects It's ability to raise or borrow money.

The Corporation, on the other hand, was buying shares to take over Schwartz & Meyer, or at least get a large enough position to force it to stop Beth.

I think he and Bruce Willis must have some kind of friendship as they are in several movies together. Tears of the Sun and one of the Die Hards off the top of my head.

Hart's War, he wasn't in any of the Die Hard films.
