Maybe she knows it is a shorter walk to her house by cutting across the open land.

Big disappointment. Yellowstone ranch is only 50,000 acres? That's no where near the largest ones in Montana. Thought they were suppose to be kings of Montana ranches.
I think that is only the part of it they want to "buy" for the airport. Not the whole thing.

Jamie says in season 1 that he had expanded the ranch by 200,000 acres while being chief counsel for the ranch.

Question about the Native American girls dearh, how do they know it was a homicide? I assumed she started walking after her car ran out of gas, after dark, and she didn't see the canyon and just fell to her death. They should have had her without any clothes on and that would have made it more believable as being a homocide at first glance.
We all know it was a chupacabra....Shatner will be on the next episode.

37 minutes of content for episode 6 including the opening and closing credits.

I bought season 3 on amazon to avoid commercials, but damn...you don't get much for your money

Calling my shot that the barrel racers are a red herring. Something seems off for sure, but I'm betting it amounts to nothing. We'll see.

Way off. They just basically told the two guys they were their girlfriends now. The old guy and Jimmie are too PW to question like they should.

This is likely very true. Sheridan likes side plots and plots in plots. Don't think they are related to the main plot of the attempted corporate land grab of the ranch. It's likely a payback for some past issue with the guys in the bunkhouse. Kind of like the meth heads were a bunkhouse plot and had nothing really to do with the main ranch. The only overlap with the Duttons was when Kayce & Co. helped Jimmie kill them.

Maybe so, but to be clear, I mean I think it's actually nothing. Just an excuse to put two young ladies on the screen, have something good happen for Jimmy, and goof on barrel racing. No payback for anything.

Well, they're doing that for sure. The Brolin girl actually can barrel race ok. That blond girl was a joke - had the most laughable super wide turns a mile away from the barrels. She's not even past an intermediate rider.

Side note - everyone knows the Brolin girl is Josh Brolin's daughter. Anyone pick up that Teeter is Michael Landon's ("Litte Joe") daughter?

LMAO I was saying the exact same thing to my wife. I grew up around it and have seen 8 year olds with tighter turns

Interesting how Michael Landon is probably three different characters to three different generations. Little Joe, pa Ingalls, and the touched by the angel guy.

My point is the irony that he thought he was protecting the family and he is now being vilified.

It's interesting that making decisions to protect the family name is exactly what Beth's character is built on and berating Jamie because he is to much of a ***** to do the same has been the constant theme. Now we find out that he was the original one that chose to protect the family name and he is vilified for it.

The confrontation with John and Jamie and then the scene with Kayce trying to hold back Jamie showed Beth around the corner with that distant "boiling the pet rabbit" crazy stare. She's got an evil plan with this.

Maybe I'm just an old guy - and while I recognize that Beth now not being able to have kids is awful, really awful - the situation was from when Jamie was 17 (no one really understands these things at that age), he was doing everything possible to protect the family name, and Beth was the one that got herself knocked up and asked Jamie for help. Beth should have gone to her Dad then and not set this up to go to him now. And John should be mad at her, and himself, that she didn't come to him back then. I don't like Jamie but he has done a lot for the family - heck, he didn't even want to go to Harvard and be a lawyer but that's what Daddy wanted so he did it.

And yes, I have daughters.

The anger Jamie had against is Dad, saying he hated him, punching a window who knows if Jamie doesn't betray Dutton by using his office and help the developers.

What irony.

It will be interesting to also see where Kayce falls in this. He's not close to Beth or Jamie but he has told Jamie he's his brother and that's that - and add in that in season 1, Jamie kept Kayce out of jail several times.

Kayce makes this show. He's super complex but simple. He's vulnerable yet utterly ruthless.

Edit to add: Beth always wanted Kayce to move/stay away and asked Monica to "save" Kayce by taking him away. It always seemed to be concern because she thought Kayce was deep down good and the ranch/family would damage that. Now, I'm thinking it's because she sees Kayce as a serious challenger and she can't manipulate him.

Explain the hysterectomy thing of teenage Beth. She was pregnant by teenage Rip, goes to get abortion, clinic won't do it but will sterilize her (hysterectomy) or is that the only way to abort, and that is best way for family name to not get tarnished?

And why Costner is upset he only has one heir - because only one person can't handle all that land or because Kayce's son is part Indian he will have to give up some of that land?
River Bass
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's unrealistic that the clinic Beth went to wouldn't explain to her that a hysterectomy was to be part of the abortion process. It would not have been a secret to be kept from the patient. I don't buy that Beth could have gone through this without knowing the consequences herself.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jaime discovers Beth's plans to destroy the ranch or exploit it in some way and the their relationships with their father shifts. We know that Beth has ulterior motives with secretly buying up land around the yellow stone.

Well, the way Kayce and Monica have been going at it, he'll have some more heirs. This was the first episode this season not showing those two screwing.

There are lots of stories about Res clinics sterilizing patients without their knowledge, or flat out against their instructions. I have no idea the background or validity. Just saying it's a common claim and I'm sure they're playing off that.

Well, the lady at the counter was pretty clear about sterilization.
