Going into today, Williams has 9 of the top 20 vote getters.Brian Earl Spilner said:
The Breaking of the Fellowship has a part with sung lyrics. Brian and I decided to disqualify that track and he replaced it with The Ring Goes South.wangus12 said:
So FOTR is easily missing one of it's top tracks and one of the most emotional pieces of current music on the planet with "The Breaking of the Fellowship". Guess we had to handicap that score somehow

I maintain that John Williams' score took that from what would've been a successful holiday movie (ie The Santa Clause), to all-time classic and the box office juggernaut it was.Chipotlemonger said:
Man, the Home Alone soundtrack is great. It really elevates the movie and helps make it the classic it is.

Breaking of the Fellowship is the best track in the trilogy and likely in this whole tournament.
We sang "Somewhere in My Memory" with the BRSO Chorus in our Christmas concert last year. Great piece of music.Brian Earl Spilner said:
Dang. Love Home Alone's score. Tough draw.

The Mission's fate
I also strategically voted that round. FOTR is probably my favorite soundtrack in the field, but I knew it would win the group.wangus12 said:
Not gonna like. I voted for The Mission just so it would hopefully have some votes to get into the field of 64

I'm just curious how Home Alone did...
It did poorly.Tied for third/last with the Mission. It is currently tied for 44th in the Field of 64 with 7 groups of 4 qualifiers left.Brian Earl Spilner said:

I love BttF and its score dearly, but I had no problem voting for Braveheart's score instead. Sorry, Marty.Yoda said:
BttF is an easy one
I'm torn on 2001. While the score is iconic and perfectly compliments the film, none of it is originally composed for the movie. As such, I think I will go with Magnificent Seven.
