That Senator's wife who we saw in S1 is severed. We've only ever seen her outside of Lumon.

Yup, watching season 1 again now. Just didn't actually get an idea of whether the birthing place was really somewhere else.

Was this last episode the first time we saw sunlight in the show?

Re-watching season 1 now, and I'm REALLY curious to see what the reality of the situation is. I think this was briefly mentioned a few pages back, Irving lives in "Kier, PE 07452." First and most obviously, the town is Kier, so it's Lumon central. But PE? Not a state in our USA. 07452 is New Jersey. Is this an alternate reality? Is the entire community real at all?

Been saying for weeks they're in a Russian alt timeline.

S2E6 Reghabi asks Mark if he remembers a black hallway (exports), presumably the one Irv remembers. There is even a scene during one of the skips that suggests mark is in exports.

Something else I somehow missed on first watch, Fields slipped up and mentioned Burt had a meeting with his Lumon partner 10-20 years ago, I believe where the name Attila originated between them. Dr Mauer in exports sure looks a lot like a younger Fields.

In E7, Devin has a giant modern smart phone? There's also a strange shift where she is actually making the call to Cobel with the phone to her ear and a cut to where she isn't making the call?

Another thing, Devin and Ricken are discussing a hiking trip they went on without Mark and Gemma. In Season 1, Ricken refers to a hiking trip all 4 of them went on. Gemma's last question to Mark before leaving the night of her 'death' was if he looked at the Denali thing. In a show where every scene is thought through to the point where Mark leaving an Asian food restaurant shows the sign in the background says "F U", the hiking trip discrepancy can't be coincidence.

In hindsight, now that we've seen so many dopplegangers, the guy at the door manufacturer where Dylan interviewed who looked a whole lot like Dylan sure seems like a Lumon plant. At the time it was just a funny coincidence.

I noticed that phone call too. She definitely looked like she made the call, then the next cut she hasn't.

I did as well, mostly because I have older parents who butt dial all the time because they never lock their phones.

In shows like this where everyone is paying attention to every detail, I sometimes wonder if we spin our wheels thinking about unintentional continuity errors

This is probably absolutely nothing at all, but I noticed when the camera looked at the screen of the phone while it was in her palm, it looked GINORMOUS. Like the size of an iPad.

But then when she held it up to her ear, it looked like the size of a regular smart phone. Twice I noticed it and both times I said to my husband "holy shi+ that phone is huge!!"

I think the font was just set to large

So in the last episode where the camera went from MDR through cables under the floor and down to the room below...it was apparently filmed without CGI. Pretty cool.

Also I swore the phone screen looked like an active iphone call with the red end button and all

I think it was just a generic smartphone that somewhat resembled an iPhone. I remember reading somewhere that this is one of the very few shows (maybe the only?) on Apple TV+ that does not have any Apple product placement. Seems like it was an intentional decision in keeping with the unknown element of the time period.

I don't know if it's a timeline where Russia won, but I am starting to wonder if there was some sort of worldwide event, and somehow the town these people are in was spared. Maybe it was a nuclear event, or maybe an asteroid, or a Thanos snap. Something were most of the rest of the world is destroyed and Lumon will use Severance to help the people get past things. I don't know what it is, but something about the world they are in now seems like it's desolated. There is definitely some sort of major past event that we don't know about that is shaping everything.

She's long overdue for an appearance and, again, this is apparently only a 37-minute episode. So I could potentially see this being some quick(ish), weird, Cobel-centric thing, but who knows.

(For the record, the final two episodes after this one are each apparently longer than normal, so it sounds like the season goes out with a bang.)
