ragnarok set such a high bar and this one clearly failed to reach that level. i still enjoyed it and will be looking forward to the next one too though.

I think I knew going in that this would have a lot of humor… so I'm really not getting the "too many jokes" / "tried too hard" comments. I thought Ragnarok was way more guilty of that, with Thor's abrupt character change, repeating the joke of electrocuting someone about 7 times, etc.
If you don't think Stormbreaker floating nearby in jealousy is funny, or you're not down with Thor kicking a tank aside, or can't enjoy a Korg recap of Thor and Jane in love, then I don't know what to tell you.
Kids in battle was cheesy but in a mostly funny way. I liked that Thor cared and shared his power to save them - that's what makes him unlike the other gods.

I think this movie did a much better job of having him be the same guy as he was in Thor 1.

Holy **** this movie sucked. Far worse than Ragnarok (which i also thought sucked). The only saving grace was Bale's acting and the GNR soundtrack. More Disney forced gayness that didn't need to be involved just for another turd in the punch bowl.
If you thought Ragnarok sucked..which was wildly popular..and you saw literally any trailer that made it very incredibly astoundingly clear that this movie was going to have the same vibe...why on earth did you go see it in the first 48 hours that it was available?

At least you lead with two terrible opinions so we all would quickly know the rest of your opinions would also be terrible.
Really fun movie overall, obviously not as good as Ragnarok but still a great way to spend a couple hours. I wished there was more of Gor killing other gods though, seems like that could have been developed more rather than just a kind of handwave recap of the havoc he was causing around the universe.

I can't take anyone seriously who didn't enjoy Ragnarok.

Saw it today. Felt they focused too much on trying to be funny. As a glaring example: the dumpling god was just a stupid, stupid addition.
Overall enjoyed it and thought it ended well, but it was The Dark World tier IMO.

Just saw it. Solid review but I still enjoyed it. I knew it would be a little goofy. They can't all be the best movie ever.
This guy sounds like a real joy to be around….

I enjoyed the movie. Not my favorite, but entertaining. I really enjoyed the dork behind us that felt the need to comment on the movie the entire way through to impress his girlfriend and then sat through the credits hoping he could b***h about those scenes as well.
Also, are we the only ones that heard Occulus instead of Hercules?

That was pretty fun. Not quite as good as Ragnarok but easily second best in the series.
Also who was that Hercules at the end? Didn't recognize the actor.

Maybe all children are worthy? The Avengers (minus Steve and vision) were not.

Korg mentions his mom in Ragnarok so I think there are female kronan too. But you just gotta accept a quick gag when you see one, like Bao the dumpling god. Taika throws all kinds of bits in there - they won't all be home runs but they're so rapid fire that it's hard to be mad about one. Like the shake weights in Ragnarok.
Dwayne the Rock was definitely a solid gag.

Saw it. Thought the Adventure Time version was better. Though, I was entertained through the whole movie.
Best part of the movie - Waititi recapping the past - Thor's backstory, everyone Thor lost,Thor & Jane relationship. Waititi recapping their relationship had more heart and emotion than Thor 1 & 2 combined
