RC Bray?

Will Wheaton did Ready Player One and he's not my favorite

I couldn't find the RC Bray narrated version on audible. Granted I didn't look too hard. Just narrated by Will Wheaton.

Oh that's a bummer because the RC Bray version is excellent.

Last two books I've read just haven't exactly been page turners. Taking a break from the non fiction and self improvement and switching over to fiction for a bit.

I've already read the book, but started listening to the GraphicAudio version of Red Rising. Fantastic.
What is GraphicAudio? All the words and plus sound effects?

They have actors and it's an audio drama. They're great for road trips.

Don't give up on King. Go read the Shining or Pet Semetary. Quick reads and really good.

Good to know. Btw if I were looking for a new username, I might have to go with "Death by Blue Balls".

I found the reason you thought he was a beating....because he is.

The Last Werewolf - Glen Duncan

Picked this up at Half Priced Books on a total whim because I wanted to read a horror novel for Halloween. I knew nothing about this book nor the author. I have abandoned it about 15% in. It's just not enjoyable to read. It's almost written in this classic lit / noir style that is just hard to get through. The protagonist is the werewolf and he tells the story in an unnecessarily complex way. It's almost like the book is more about how the author is going to write this story than actually tell the story.

Also, I found out after I got home that it's a trilogy which I specifically did not want, but that's on me for not checking when I bought it. And it's pretty sexually graphic which doesn't bother me but it may others. Regardless, it's been canned.

Back to Licanius 3 to finish out that trilogy.

I finished the Stephen King book It, White Night (Dresden Files) and just started World War Z. I really enjoyed It, although the back end of the book felt like a let down.

White Night was a fun read, I've really enjoyed just about all the books in the Dresden Files series so far.

World War Z has started off very good (it's so interesting and very hard to stop listening).

I'm taking turns rotating between 3 book series right now.

Almost finished with the Saxon Chronicles (now my favorite series of all time), recently finished with book 2 of the Terminal List series (really got into it once the action picked up about halfway through), and in the middle of Dungeon Crawler Carl book one (loving it and hard to put down at night to go to bed).

My wife binges everything, so she has a hard time understanding how I can watch multiple t.v. shows or read multiple books series at a time. But I just have too many things that interest me to stay locked into one book or t.v. series solely at a time.

Picked the Saxon Chronicles back up today on Kindle. I'm on Book 10 and just started it. It will be treadmill book.

I had to read synopsis for Books 1-9 because it's been a few years since I read book 9.

The good thing is that while each book does relate back to the previous ones they're also standalone enough that you don't need to remember too many details from the previous ones.

The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum. Very entertaining and gripping novel, thought it was pretty confusing at times. I will complete the trilogy.

Wow, Book 2 sucks. I don't understand anything that is happening and it's not holding my interest at all. This trilogy will be a rare DNF for me.

Yeah, years ago I tried reading the books because I loved the movies so much, but much like you I found the books laughably bad.

Just gave up on Intrusion Protocol (Autonomous Weapons Division, book 1). Interesting concept, but way too poorly executed. 80% done, but quit. The author needed a strong editor and a rewrite to make it worthwhile.

My wife is doing the re-read of all of the Harry Potter books. Might do the same, she can't stop talking about how much she forgot and just magical creativity. Need something to suck me in again.

Every time I see one of the Potter movies on, I marvel at how Rowling made very seemingly insignificant statements in the early books that wound up being so integral to the later actions in the book. She must have had a very detailed outline to guide the writing process.

Didn't she do some other books, the Newt Scamander Fantastic Beasts series?

Well, just finished "Wind and Truth", book 5 of Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive. This took a month to read. Still not certain what I think of the series. Went into this last book thinking I needed to finish the first series and expecting to end there. However this one did a good job of helping to understand the entire story and cosmere that had always had trouble doing. I was also able to appreciate all the characters flaws that had frustrated me in the last book. I'll probably dive into the second 5 book series, assuming I live that long. Give this book A- and entire 5 book series a B+.

I've read Wheel of Time series twice and found myself more invested in the characters and stories than in the Stormlight Archive, but that could just be me.

It's now been 25 years since I rage quit the WoT after The Path of Daggers (book 8) completely destroyed the greatest series I ever started reading.

Can't believe it's been that long. I will reread this again at some point, but only because I've forgotten most everything about the series and never finished it in the first place. I will likely just read a synopsis of book 8 since nothing happened in it other than Nynave (sp?) tugging her braid for 800 pages.

And breasts move breastily. The slog is rough but the books on the other side of it are incredible. I'm doing audiobooks this time for my hell commute and it makes it far more enjoyable. It's worth a finish - Sanderson really did a great job wrapping it up. I attempted the Amazon series but found it completely unwatchable.
