Well there ya go, I stand corrected. Still seems kinda odd to put that much focus on her.

I agree, it did seem odd to have shots of her in the audience but perhaps it's because we recognize her and that's more meaningful than all just randoms we have no connection with reacting to the events.

I saw Ep4 had the third highest individual IMDB score out of any episode in the GOT universe. 9.7/10.

Yeah, I didn't think that was necessary either. When you watch the commentary at the end of the episode, the Director/producer guy even says hopefully people will forgive us for that.

Dude. There was really no reason for it.

There is this weird trend in HWood to show insane manhood. If you watched 28YL, there is a ridiculous prosthetic in that too. It's funny, but still kind of odd it's the 3rd time I've seen such a blatant prosthetic lately.

Love the show so fart.

The actor playing Aerion Targaryen gives me Vecna vibes (Jamie Campbell Bower) with some of his expressions

Is than similar to belching after a fine meal to show your approval? Not sure my wife would appreciate me trumpeting my satisfaction with the show like that.

Dude is a very good actor because he couldn't be more different than that role and he's totally believable in both.

I'm so glad we have another great villain in this GoT universe. The show always cooks when you have someone to truly hate.

Wow, had no idea. And yeah, his True Detective character was nothing like this.

He's great in the role, definitely has some range. I will also never cease to be surprised that almost every backwoods cop on any prestigious crime show is British.

All caught up. Loved that episode and really the entire show. As mentioned - authentic adaption of Martin is as good as TV gets. I think it's fantasy enough to be immersive and free enough from earth history but realistic enough (super light magic if any) to be engaging. ****er needs to realize he's a writer and write though.

As to the knighting, IMO it's more that Dunk doesn't feel worthy and he likely feels guilty about his knights death. I also think that hedge knight life was pretty far removed from high houses and lords. I don't think there's any way a man of his honor would lie about that.

I couldn't agree more but I'm hoping this series is successful enough to convince him to write more novellas.

Forget Winds of Winter and a Dream of Spring, focus on 100 page novellas where there are 5-10 main characters and not 100-150 that have loose ends all over the place to clean up.

He's said he wants to write more Dunk and Egg books, hope he does.

Are we not going to talk about the audio of Jamie Lannister knighting Brienne of Tarth from GOT dubbed over Lyonel Baratheon knighting Raymon???

Yeah why on earth would he use a voiceover from a character who isn't going to be born for like 80 years. I've heard of call backs but never a call forward.

I would have been low-key annoyed if that was a voiceover. Idk why but that actor just hits the funny bone for me, thought he was hilarious in The Gentlemen as Freddy.

The episode where Jamie knights Brienne was also titled "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" and GRRM has confirmed that Brienne is a descendent of Ser Duncan.

There's also speculation that Hodor is a descendent of Dunk, but there isn't as much evidence there...yet.

Edit: I guess I'll ad spoiler tags even tho I consider this more lore/speculation.

Dunk must have been a busy man if in 90 years he's got descendants all over the place and of high- and low- birth.

I just want to say for that second theory to be true, Dunk had to have gotten jiggy with Young Old Nan. Which leads us all to ask.....

Yeah, his character is quite ironic given Hodor, Brienne and almost certainly The Cleganes (via Rohanne Webber) are his descendants.

He's a deadbeat dad for sure!

It makes me sad that the last two books will never be finished, but the Dunk and Egg short stories are great and I'm excited about this. It will be way better than House of the Dragon.

Haha! This series blows hugely. HOTD is insanely better. Watched Epi 1 and 2 lof this Knight series last night. Won't watch any others. It was awful and uneventful trash.

Just bumping to laugh at this insanely awful take.

Also, I could see a case that E1 was a bit slow but my GOD HOTD is such a slog to get through, yes the CGI dragons are bad ass but eventually you have to have an interesting story and there really isn't anyone on that show to root for, they're all just miserable.

I felt more emotions from the end of episode 3 and 4 than I have the entire 2 seasons of HOTD.

Especially since we know from the Joffrey / Jaime book conversation that Ser Duncan the Tall becomes a member of the Kings Guard. Aren't they sworn to celibacy?

Yeah, they are sworn to celibacy but when have we seen that taken seriously? Not by Criston Cole in HOTD or Jamie Lannister in GoT. As Mormont tells Jon in GoT, "if we executed everyone who went to molestown for a night then there would only be ghosts guarding The Wall' and it's the same for Kingsguard.

I get that...but Dunk appears to be more honorable than those others. At least they're making it seem like he is not the type of guy to be spreading his seed all over Westeros after taking his vows.

I think he's got plenty of time to sew his wild oats before he becomes a Kings Guard.
