I would like for the two liberal pearl-clutchers here to explain why my rural county where guns outnumber people by at least 3:1 never has a murder. Almost everyone has a firearm within reach either on their person or in their vehicle, yet miraculously no murders.

Neither are apparently very smart so I'll provide a statistic as a clue - the population is 99.9% white and Hispanic.
I take issue with you correlating gun violence rates to race.

Guess you take issue with facts then.

That cop better be careful his leg looks like it is touching that young scholar's head. That's probably some new Federal civil rights violation KC may need to dedicate a park & statue if his hoodie gets wrinkled.

Vehicular violence has had more impact to my life than gun violence and it's not even close. Thus I'm here to announce that I'm offering to buy pylon's and taco's vehicles at pennies on the dollar in a vehicle buy-back program and have them permanently banned from ever owning a car. This will end deaths by dui. It's literally the same BS they propose for me and my firearms except their right to drive is not enshrined in the second amendment of the constitution.

It's disingenuous (at best) to pin this on Democrats. This is 100% the fault of Republican gun policy.

If we enacted common sense gun control, we'd see way less of this *****

The answer to gun violence is to allow the innocent civilians to protect themselves.

So all those kids at Uvalde should have been strapped?

No. They should have closed the door.

So has any anti-gun liberal ever said what "common-sense gun control" looks like, how it would be put in place? And specifically, how it would prevent shootings? Even if all gun sales were stopped, legal and illegal, they are not going to confiscate the hundreds of millions of guns already out there. If the bad guys can't buy them, they will steal them or use the ones they already have. I guess we could make gun theft against the law.

Even then. You can't regulate physics out of existence.

Worse, people like her would have advocated not just confiscating his weapons, but also throwing him to the lions for being a terrorist.
You're describing the "shall not infringe" crowd.

I'm fighting against the status quo. I'm fighting against the laws that have made it so easy for people to harm their fellow man. I'm fighting for what Jesus actually taught.

I distinctly remember Jesus telling his disciples to scrounge enough money together to buy a sword. He also says that those who live by the sword will die by it. So, I by no means believe he called people to violence. However, to think that Jesus would find it inherently sinful to own firearms for self defense - is a stretch.

Living by the sword and surviving by the sword are different.

I can't believe that there are people out there that blame inanimate objects for the actions of living beings.
i'm not. stop being obtuse. more guns lead to more gun deaths. that is a fact. you can cope and seethe about it all you want, but it's why the USA is the only developed country to have a catastrophically bad gun violence problem, and only one side of the political aisle refuses to admit that.

Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the country. How do you explain the gun violence there in that democrat ran uptopia?

Lmao - look at the shooters. They definitely vote Dim. I'd bet my life savings neither are NRA members.

Quit blaming the guns. You need to look at the root cause. Idiotic insane leftists.
no one can ever back up the argument that the "big bad liberals" cause these shootings other than making sweeping generalizations that "democrat cities bad" and unfounded accusations that all shooters are Democrats.

I don't know a single republican who wants more guns on the streets. You have the mind of a child.
there are more guns than people in the USA. GOP politicians take massive donations from gun rights groups and firearm manufacturers, and enact policies to allow them to sell more guns and push policy that will arm more people.

it's business for them. more guns = more $$$ for them.
Can you blame us? What is wrong with me, or any other poster here, having several guns?

Yep. It's amazing how predictable it has become. Hours pass after an arrest for a violent crime but no description of the criminal? Black. 100% of the time.

People ignore laws.

that poster (and everyone who makes that argument) insinuates that because people break laws, we shouldn't have them. it's stupid logic.

Oh I am. By using our existing federal gun laws to put these 6%ers behind bars instead of releasing them on PR bonds or letting them plead away the gun charges when they get caught. We have all the laws we need to dramatically reduce crime, we just need to enforce them with appropriate punishments.

which situation will likely lead to more deaths?

100 guns in a city of 1 million people, or 100,000 guns in a city of 1 million people?

dont even answer with a post. just digest this and answer it honestly to yourself. it's undeniable that the proliferation of guns (among other causes such as rampant poverty and broken homes) has led to the situation we are in right now.

like I said, I'm a gun owner and have never advocated for confiscation, but i'm also not going to be willfully blind and act like there's not a problem.

Help me understand . . . Is this why they have all the gun deaths and gun crimes in Finland??

How many laws do you think these shooters broke? And you think more laws are going to make law breakers suddenly obey more laws?

I think you must be a troll. It's just hard to believe anyone can live in such an irrational, emoting fantasy.
Most guns used in mass shootings were bought legally. That is a fact.

Sure, criminals will break laws, but they won't be able to go on a shooting rampage if they are unable to gain possession of a firearm.
False. Most guns used in mass shootings may have been bought legally by the original owners, but to imply the shooters were the one's who bought them is a lie, even if you label it as a "fact."

This needs to be repeated.

To conclude, Federal charges for crimes using firearms using laws we ALREADY have. The federal system doesn't play stupid games. In jail waiting for trail in most cases and no early parole. 10 year sentence= 10 years in jail. All it takes is a conservative court and prosecuting federal attorney to make it happen. The Beaumont district has been taking out the trash for years and doing a great job of picking cases to prosecute at the federal level.
Several Houston area bank robbers found out when they got caught doing a Beaumont area robbery. No more get out of jail free card like in Houston.
