I was a fish when JFK was assassinated, so I have lived through all the rhetoric and conspiracy theories. I thought I had heard all of them, but on WBAP today, someone said the Secret Service accidentally shot him and it was covered up. This guy said after the first shot, a SS agent jacked a round into his M-16 and it discharged. He went on to talk about the autopsy and other items, but I was driving and didn't get past the SS revelation!

I'll admit, I had never heard that before!

My humble opinion is that Jim Garrison was on that right path…

He may not have had all of the details right, but I think his theories were in the ballpark…

Does anybody really think that anything that's being released is going to point to a different shooter than LHO?

I can see that maybe there's something pointing to an intelligence agency having more knowledge of him beforehand than has been admitted to. But even with something like that, I don't think it's going to point to an intelligence agency actually putting him in place to do the shooting.

I also think that anything highly incriminating of an agency or individual has disappeared in the last 60 years. So this is going to be closer to a nothingburger than a mindblower. My opinion.

I guess because people/agencies that are in the business of keeping secrets wanted to keep "something" secret that's in the files. No idea what that might be. I just don't think there's going to be anything world-changing in there.

Let's say the CIA assassinated JFK.

Does anyone think the documents will be declassified and it reveals the CIA's role in assassinating JFK?

Do you think they would even write that in highly classified documents?

In CIA files? Low probability…

But if they were investigation files written outside of the agency, I can see it…

What I can't see is, after all this time, things not being expunged…

There's been plenty of time to clean…

But again, what gets stuck in my craw is why keep it locked down for so long, and that goes for RFK and MLK as well…

I mean, all three assassinations were by domestic assailants (Sirhan had been in the US for 12 years, coming here before he was a teenager)…

So why is there so much speculation about concern over revealing clandestine operatives and/or techniques? They were all domestic assailants…

Everyone knows the CIA replaced the real documents with fakes decades ago.
