what experience does hegseth have leading large organizations or military units? what about large-scale crisis management?

but he went to harvard and served in the military! okay, so did pete buttigieg
Went to PRINCETON, and THEN Harvard...and was an O-4

He was also Executive Director of Vets for Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America. So he had led organizations before.

And Pete Buttigieg (O-2) was Secretary of Transportion after his other huge job - Mayor of South Bend. I don't remember you complaining about his qualifications for those 4 years. (I don't remember because you never did).

Just another example of pure hypocrisy from the left, the libs, and the dems….

And in every measure Mayor Pete was a failure as the mayor of a town with a population of 100,000…..
Speaking of DEI hires...a complete chest-feeding failure as Secretary of Transportation. Absolute clown show that was never criticized by the left for his ineptitude.

It's (D)ifferent.

And brown-nosing fox host ad hominem aside, we both know why Hegseth was chosen... To clean out the political riff raff that allowed mission drift of the Pentagon as a whole from a fighting force to a DEI experience.

He's doing that. And we're seeing the expected whining as a result.
this is obviously untrue, considering hegseth himself is the poster child of DEI hires

I'm guessing you don't know what DEI means…. Sometimes I can't even begin to understand how incredibly moronic these comments are…. Or where they come from.
unqualified person hired to a position because of a favored characteristic unrelated to their actual ability to perform the job? yeah that's hegseth to a tee.
So can I take this as your admission that the entire DEI debacle unter the prior administration was a sham? That Secretary Austin's strong promotion of DEI in the military was, as you say, advocation for hiring unqualified persons becaue of a favored characteristic unrelated to their actual ability to perform the job?

Perhaps we are making progress, OM.

There is another vital role that Hegseth is now playing as a result of these continued attacks from the left and other opponents of this administraton....

Point man taking fire.

The left has actually overplayed their hand, and in their exuberance of going after Hegseth, and believing that ANOTHER attack for the same successful event 6 weeks ago will somehow get traction, the targeting of Hegseth is getting all the air time... and keeping heat off of Trump and the remainder of the Cabinet.

Its a great point you make here.

How much are we hearing on DOGE and the Elon Musk / Big Ballz cutting off Grandma's medicare and SSA payments? Of course, lots of folks on here were critical of DOGE being out there daily with announcements and I am sure now they will complain "its been weeks since Elon and his team have done anything!".

Dems are playing a desperate game of whack-a-mole and Team Trump keeps producing the rodents faster than Dems can swing the whacker. Debunking MSM, CM and lib gotchya's seems to happen within hours keeping them running around like a furry puppy on a polished wood floor.

"Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth pulled the airstrike information he posted into Signal chats with his wife, brother and dozens of others from a secure communications channel used by U.S. Central Command, raising new questions as to whether the embattled Pentagon head leaked classified information over an open, unsecured network.

NBC News first reported that the launch times and bomb drop times of U.S. warplanes that were about to strike Houthi targets in Yemen details that multiple officials have said are highly classified were taken from secure U.S. Central Command communications. A person familiar with the second chat confirmed that to The Associated Press."

are we restarting the thread over again after 6 pages? or does the AP article you linked have new or different info from the link in the OP?

Or, the media has decided to lie and say it came from a classified source knowing full well they never have to prove or back up their allegations.

-he likes to mix work, family, and friends. Kind of odd.
-he got the material from a classified chat room. I figured that was the case just because of the phrasing used etc.

Trump won't fire him now because it will be egg on the face and the left has been historically terrible with classified as well. Not a big deal other than Pete continues to look immature.

Is this supposed to be sarcasm? Because anyone trying to say there was any semblance of competence with the Biden/harris catastrophe of an administration needs to be admitted to a mental hospital.

it has nothing to do with biden, but whataboutism noted. there were any number of competent conservatives with pentagon leadership experience trump could have selected for this role and instead he chose a brown-nosing fox host.
You really mean their are numerous neocon flunkies' that you lefties would have been happy for Trump to appoint. Pretending this is anything but an ideological attack from the necon circle jerk and their friends in the leftist's media echo clamber is a joke,

Interesting. I just went over the OP, and the link to the article from the Independent. There is no concrete timeline of this second Signal chat. The NYT simply stated "upcoming military strike" on March 15th, the day of the strike. There was a second note that the source stated that Hegseth did this at "approximately" the same time as the original SignalGate texts.

Lot of wiggle room there. So was that 2 hours before the strike?, 15 minutes before the strike?, while the planes were in the air?, or... After the strike was completed?

We're left to conjecture based upon 3 words, and the word "approximately" in the article.

I've seen this playbook before.
