Carriers that rely on cheap foreign truck drivers are reporting massive absenteeism. Per Mr. Fuller, "This is going to destroy entire business models. Trucking companies only survive through cashflows of running freight. They are toast if this goes on."

Truck stop parking lots are suddenly much emptier than normal.

ICE is also showing up at businesses where shipments are loaded and unloaded, verifying that the truckers have legitimated CDLs. Shippers therefore are becoming proactive in ensuring that only legal drivers are backing up to their warehouse docks, and refusing to load or receive shipments from non-compliant drivers.

Trucking companies and freight brokers are being advised by legal counsel to immediately cease working with non-US domiciled truck drivers and those who lack a legal United States CDL. Mr. Fuller quotes one of them as telling him, "Plaintiff attorneys will scorch any broker or carrier for hiring an illegitimate driver."

Insurance companies are likely to refuse to provide insurance going forward for companies unless they prohibit the hiring of truck drivers lacking US-domiciled CDLs.

OK.
So what happens to him? He gets to hang around and do construction illegally or is he deported?

This is what I said in another thread. These people work here, and send 90% of their earnings overseas. The money does not circulate in our economy. We lose. This needs to be plugged.

I was driving east on I-20 through Shreveport last month, behind an 18-wheeler driver that did not pay attention to the sign that stated commercial trucks should take the loop because of construction on I-20. (They are rebuilding I-20 through there and it's a very narrow one lane bordered by concrete barriers.) I watched the 18-wheeler's tail end hit and bounce off the barrier. I will take the loop if there is a next time, just in case someone else clogs that one lane up with an accident. Lots of scuff marks on those barriers, I noticed!

Make the state that issues the CDL responsible for damages and civil liabilities in any interstate related traffic accidents caused by any commercial driver.

The state issued the license, they vouch for the driver's training and skills, and should be held accountable as such.

Go further and make the person and management structure also personally responsible in part for those damages.

Honestly, how long before a nutjob drives a fully loaded semi through a crowded gathering...not that a license would stop that, but it would make it harder.

He came in illegally via the Southern border, was taken into custody by Border Patrol in California, but was released under the Biden aministration's - future democrat voter program.

Someone should ask Gavin Newsom, if he's gonna pin the blame for his state issuing a CDL to someone because the federal government approved his work status, then why is his state also protecting those who the federal government has deemed in the US illegally?

This will sound hyperbolic but this is the kind of **** that civil wars are fought over. In the past anyway. We have leftist states openly flaunting the constitution and actively recruiting and employing illegals that then travel across state lines killing US citizens in other states.

I would be deploying state NG and manning all highway truck weigh stations, stopping all trucks, and immediately detaining people like this.

Under normal circumstances I would totally agree that he can't have it both ways... That would be true for normal people with critical thinking skills.

The folks that elect him don't have that.. Look at what BS laws they pass out there...

Hell, I don't doubt that the left folks on here don't think, deep down, that newsom is correct on both fronts.. They may not admit it, but they'll blame trump for anything and everything.

I wish they'd announce how many work permits were given to people without legal status.

You could solve a lot of issues by axing the majority of those and capping EBT. I think you could probably get a majority of Americans behind a 2k/mn limit.

What course?

There's no mandatory course. If you know the laws and can pass the exams you're good to go.
