Reiner should have spent more time with his son's early development. One can be successful in business and a failure at home. Some can be successful at both. Prioritization. Religion is a key for success.
All those people who lost their jobs for their disgusting tweets about Charlie Kirk's assassination are staring at the President of the United States's social media account in disbelief.

I remember this from his former casino manager. Who knows if true but if so . . . .
https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/11/07/donald-trump-says-hes-never-used-a-racist-remark-i-know-different-222314/Quote:
"Yeah, I never liked the guy," he said. "And isn't it funny, I've got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day."
I was mortified. We were in a restaurant in Trump Tower. I worried he'd be overheard. But he went on, "Besides that, I've got to tell you something else: I think the guy is lazy, and it's probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is. I believe that. It's not anything they can control."
Then, eyeing me closely, he said, "Don't you agree?"
When I told him in no uncertain terms that I did not, he swiped aside my objections with a chop of his hand. "Ah, it's a trait," he said.

Well, no one really thinks that Trump is a good human being. Politics aside, Clinton, Bush Jr and Obama are probably better people to hang with and have a beer. Even Biden or Carter.
However, it is a choice we are forced to make from the policy perspective. We cannot allow the country to be sold to foreigners and Trump is the best (only) choice. The other option was Kamala.
Sad but until an alternative emerges, it is Trump, however classless or racist he is or may silently be.
What has Trump ever done that makes you think he is a racist?
Please read the 4 words in bold above.
Trump has learned to mime his racism. 4D chess and such.
Get real. There is not a single example of Trump being racist in his 80 years on Earth.
Well we can all have our opinions based on what we see/hear.
Well you said he was silent in his racism, so you cannot form that opinion by what you hear.
What have you read or seen to show this racism? Why not back it up?

I said "may". Look at the word in bold.
Besides, I can form an opinion on someone without needing to justify it or give evidence. Sometimes you just get a feeling.

How do you know he didn't? I know plenty of people that had children that were raised right and later developed drug problems. Doesn't mean the parents did anything wrong. And it's been pretty well reported that Rob and his wife tried over a long period of time to get help for their son.

Anyone surprised by Trump?
Also, he may be starting to have dementia. Frequent doc visits, hand bruising consistent with drug administration, sleeping publicly now. There are signs.
No. He is an embarrassment to the country and I am deeply regretting exclusively and emphatically voting for him every time.
Wow...I don't even have any words.
Rob Reiner was able to set aside politics and condemn Kirk's killing, but our side seems to get more petty as time goes on. Trump should be embarrassed and his handlers should address that.
How ironic is it that Reiner is dead but the Meathead lives as the leader of the free world.
I guess you missed the other horrible things Rob Reiner said for a decade. He says one nice thing about Charlie Kirk and that forgives everything else he said? Interesting.
Trump shouldn't have said it, hands-down, but I thank God he's our president even when he does crappy things like this. They are just words, but they are gross words. It is a character flaw in him though. However, what he's been able to do in just the last year alone after four years of complete devastation is phenomenal.
Both things can be true.
People in general just need to quit being so emotional and realize we're living in a very hard, ugly world now. Ironically, not as hard as about 100 years ago, but hard in a different way and in this age of social media a lot of stuff is said that shouldn't have been.
I think of the things that people like Omar and Tlaib, Biden and Pelosi have said and it's no better. I wish Trump had been above this.
But to act like the left has not been doing this for a decade is disingenuous. It doesn't deserve Trump doing it back. He should've been thr better person, he shouldn't have said anything, but it's interesting to see people wringing their hands over just one portion of this.
Trump doesn't have dementia, when you get to be older, you get bruises on your hands because of thinning skin and he's the president so he has medical tests. I think he's fine until we hear otherwise. And I find that even amusing given the walking corpse we had in office under Biden.
Trump has always tweeted like this. This was just one of the particularly ugly ones.
Reiner has decades of bad things to say all pent up and yet, when it counts, when it's his chance to show the world he is a sane human being.....he is able to nail it. That's what professionalism and character looks like.
As you said, Trump doesn't have either quality and his actions while regrettable, are expected.
Trump should have used this as an opportunity to tell people "If you need to make note of his politics before your condemn his death, you are a f---tard, unamerican, and a bottom dwelling dirtbag".
Instead, Trump tried to make it a sales pitch for something no one is buying.
I actually get Trump having this type of sentiment behind closed doors. Imagine if you were so hated by loudmouths like Reiner, Hollywood, the media etc. to the point where it has conditioned people to want to kill you. I won't pretend to know what almost having my head blown off because of people with voices like Rob Reiner spreading irrational hatred and fear is like...but I would imagine that would do a number on many people.
Trump's mistake is saying what he said publically. It is very divisive and potentially damaging for the GOP. If he wanted to go on this type of rant...would have been best to do with buddies on the golf course or some other more private setting.

Exactly. None of us have ever been through what he's been through. It was trashy, but that irrational fear and hatred spewed by leftist elites like Rob Reiner, pumping him up to be the spawn of Satan and Adolf Hitler, is a huge factor in why so many useful idiots want him dead or in jail.
I can't imagine how much this kid must hate those types of liberals for putting a target on his dad's back.
I wouldn't blame that kid for saying something like "F Rob Reiner, bye". He's a bigger man than me.

Oh I think Barron gets amped by the hate spewed at his father. He's evidently doing very well at college and he is about to be living his best life with the FIFA tournament in 2026.
And I suspect some day 30-40 years from now Barron will get the revenge on the cabal who tried to kill his father... repeatedly.

This post is a chilling example of how deeply we have strayed from the Lord's teaching on charity and compassion. My heart goes out to the Reiner family for the grief they must be experiencing. Our faith commands us to mourn with those who mourn, not to use the solemn occasion of a passing as a moment for political mockery and self-aggrandizement.
The casual invention and celebration of a "disease" to insult a political opponent is not just poor taste; it is a profound failure of the Christian spirit. When a person is reportedly gone from this world, we are called to pray for their soul and extend grace to their loved ones. We are to speak the truth in love and to remember the words of the Sermon on the Mount: "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."
True American greatness, the kind that honors God, is built on humility, kindness, and respect for our neighbors, regardless of their political banner. May the Lord grant rest to Rob and Michele, and may He grant us all the wisdom to remember that every soul is sacred in His eyes.

Well said, His name, and "WWJD" get thrown around by so many people while doing and supporting things completely antithetical to His teachings. It is a form of taking His name in vain.
