I took them as two separate statements about their murder and that he was deranged with TDS. Not murdered because of it.
I looked back at the statement, I guess the words " reportedly due to" made you say that, but I didn't take it that way. If that's what Trump meant then he was definitely wrong. Him saying anything other than condolences was wrong. But again don't act like worse hasn't been said about him and his supporters from most of Hollywood, Reiner himself and the Democrats. They're not mutually exclusive.

Rob Reiner was a decent actor and director and seemingly a normal person. Then he became very vitriolic to the point of disgusting words, literally put himself in a psychiatric care to deal with "Trump being president" obviously having some mental issues to take it that far. Both are true.
However, I do wish Trump would not do some of these things because it takes away from what's really important. I am disappointed in him. Again, both things can be true.

Reiner, who made a name for himself as the character Mike "Meathead" Stivic on the sitcom All in The Family has not been taking the results of the 2024 US presidential election well. An outspoken democrat and activist, Reiner engaged in a prolonged social media meltdown that started when the election of Donald Trump was called on November 5th and ended with a trip to a mental health facility early this morning.
All the abuse and hate from Twitter has now spewed over to here," Reiner opined. "There seems to be no point anymore."
On November 20, Rob Reiner unleashed a series of posts on the platform that continued late into the night, ultimately culminating in his arrival at a facility for his mental health.
"This platform is vile, racist, and evil," he claimed. "It did not take long for MAGA scum to come spread their lies." … Republicans have no idea what they have done," Reiner said just yesterday at 8:45 pm. "America has fallen. MAGA just do not understand the consequences of electing a fascist like Donald Trump."
At 10:57 pm, Reiner continued to rail against BlueSky after receiving pushback on his earlier posts. Apparently, when you spend your evening screaming about how evil half the country is, eventually they bite back.
Speaking of madness, Reiner's next BlueSky post came at 12:23 am. The former Meathead confirmed that he would be checking himself into a facility for the next few days… I have made the decision to take the next few days to check into a facility for peace and relaxation," Reiner said. "No phones, social media, no trolls, just calmness to heal my pain."
Since that post 14 hours ago, Reiner has been silent on social media.

As I heard last night on the reading of the Christmas story "May there be peace on Earth and Goodwill to all".
I disagree with 1000% of what Rob stood for, and, I love that we can disagree in this country. I hope he and his wife rest in peace.
