We know about the comments on that instance but apparently you are ignoring all the other comments he made for years about Trump and his supporters. It isn't hollow at all. He said some god-awful things about Trump.

So if you're going to take one instance out of many to make yourself feel better go ahead. I don't think Trump should've said what he said. It would've been better to stay silent. I think it was really bad. But quit with the revisionist history.

Trump is a narcissist who says terrible things, especially about people that hate him. He does more self damage than any politician I have ever seen.

This isn't Charlie Kirk though because it has no political relevance in the killing. Reiner was a messed up guy with messed up kids and suffered a horrible fate no one should. Being murdered by your child is absolutely the worst thing I can imagine.

A tragedy of a messed up family is not a political assassination. Making fun of Reiner is gross but it's not encouraging future violence. That's the difference.

People using the words insane and psychotic on here are amusing to me after what we've heard about Trump over the last 10 years. All things from Reiner himself. Again, I don't think he should've said it but what he said was 100% true. Mean-spirited, inappropriate given the timing, but true.

Actually, maybe take your own advice. Some of the vitriol you put out isn't much different than what Reiner and most of the left have said for a decade. The two are not mutually exclusive. Your own hatred has you lecturing people for the truth.

Truth can be ugly. Truth can be unnecessary as it is here with Trump, but it's interesting, you don't condemn Reiner at all for the horrible things he has said. Did he deserve to be murdered especially by his son? Absolutely not. But that doesn't excuse what he said the past decade.

I am sorry for the rest of his family, especially having to deal with this from their own sibling, I can't even imagine. And again, I reiterate, I do not think Trump should've said what he did, but spare me ignoring the vitriol from the left and from this man in particular.

Sure, but I still could have voted for Biden or Harris, but I didn't because they are communist, mentally compromised morons with below average IQs.

I would also argue that many Republicans voted for Trump when they may have desired another candidate because they knew Trump was the candidate who would most effectively take the fight to the Democrats and actually win.

I would have preferred Desantis myself, but he campaigned poorly, for whatever reason, so that left Trump as the option.

Actually, I think he is OK with it. He truly believes it, but when the truth goes from the other side, even if ugly, that's when he gets angry.

Hypocrisy is one of the biggest things I see from the left. These people would literally smile with glee to see Trump assassinated. Many on this forum included.

Why is it when people die, even if horrifically, all of their misdeeds, ugly words and behavior are suddenly "not so bad"

Rob Reiner was a decent actor and director and seemingly a normal person. Then he became very vitriolic to the point of disgusting words, literally put himself in a psychiatric care to deal with "Trump being president" obviously having some mental issues to take it that far. Both are true.

However, I do wish Trump would not do some of these things because it takes away from what's really important. I am disappointed in him. Again, both things can be true.

Reiner's passing is not something I am glad or happy about, though I sure as **** am not sad about it.

Feel free to point me to a page where I'm wrong, but despite many comments suggesting the contrary, I don't think a single post on this thread has been "glorifying" Reiner. Simply suggesting it's tragic and deserving of compassion that someone whose work we grew up with got his throat slit.

I guess I was raised to never speak ill of the dead, and it's one of those old customs that I'm shocked when someone breaks it.

Of course, my whole family is small town Texas folk all the way back to San Jacinto, so I was raised a little differently than most.,

I think its unfair to wait until someone is dead to speak ill of them. Do it whilst they are still upright so maybe they can defend theyselves.

But I also don't mind being critical of the deceased when they have done things worthy of criticism.

Actually, I think he is OK with it. He truly believes it, but when the truth goes from the other side, even if ugly, that's when he gets angry.

Hypocrisy is one of the biggest things I see from the left. These people would literally smile with glee to see Trump assassinated. Many on this forum included.

Why is it when people die, even if horrifically, all of their misdeeds, ugly words and behavior are suddenly "not so bad"

Rob Reiner was a decent actor and director and seemingly a normal person. Then he became very vitriolic to the point of disgusting words, literally put himself in a psychiatric care to deal with "Trump being president" obviously having some mental issues to take it that far. Both are true.

However, I do wish Trump would not do some of these things because it takes away from what's really important. I am disappointed in him. Again, both things can be true.

You are gaslighting the absolute hell out of me right now. I can't even begin to respond because there's so much here that someone with any amount of self awareness wouldn't have said. I''ll simply say....Rob Reiner never went to psychiatric care, let alone 'because of Trump'. I don't know where you got that from...
