Reading the Chronological Bible this year and currently in Numbers. God punishes, is jealous, and wrathful. I'm gaining a lot more understanding about why we all need Jesus to intercede for us.

Also, so long as the plank of a particular sin isn't in my eye, I am free to judge your spec and receive judgme t for mine. That's called accountability. Talarico's entire political platform is based on his theology and any discussion about that platform requires review of what he believes, and discussion with supporters that believe what he says. The foundation and merits of those beliefs are fair game.

Politicians take note: sometimes you can be too "on message". Take an opportunity with a slow pitch like that to humanize yourself. Say you love a particular barbecue joint in your hometown, say you love floating the Comal, say you love singing in your church choir. Talarico almost certainly had a sympathetic interviewer who will give him plenty of opportunities to push your political message without sounding like a robot.

It used to be that Dems would campaign as moderates to get elected and then govern to the left of what they campaigned on. Nowadays, Dems are trotting out these far left loons knowing full well that they will lose an election. They have a complicit media in their corner who will point out how much of a "Hitler" or how much of a "racist" any R candidate is. They do this to pull the R's to the left and have them moderate their positions. With the Dems moving left, a now moderate Dem will eventually appear to be reasonable but will be well left of the median on the political spectrum because they have pulled the R's to the left. Now, an elected republican will be closer to the actual median rather than being more conservative. This is why primaries matter.
