I would rather have had Hunt, who I voted for, but at this point it is winning the ideological game NOT about feeling comfortable with myself while taking L after L because of the betrayals of a guy like Cornyn.

I was trying to explain this to a limp wristed "OMG what about the things Trump has said?!" lib the others day.

As long as there is no pedophilia or advocating of extreme degeneracy, I ONLY care about policy and how it will effect my little one. Although, all other things being equal, I would obviously take the more morally upright candidate.

I would vote for a president who personally insulted my wife or child as long as his policy was good for them, over one who praised them but pushed policy that resulted in more societal decay and more violence etc. I am done caring about petty BS...it's ONLY policy for me. There is a lot I don't like about Trump, but he has been far and away the best choice in terms of policy and culture.

I will take a former adulterer who is solidly conservative and proves it through action, over a morally pious liberal who wants socialism and cares more about criminals and their feelings than my family.

First of all...it was not included in the Bible, and removed. It was discovered in 1945. The author is unknown, though the author credits it as the writings of Thomas. It was never part of the Canonical scriptures we know today. There are a lot of reasons for that, and is a book of sayings attributed to Jesus...but is absolutely not a Gospel account.

Secondly, his comment completely twists the saying. The writing, similar to other scripture he's twisted, is saying God is for everyone. Not just man, not just woman...there is no difference with regards to salvation. It's instruction to stop viewing them as man or woman, but a soul needing salvation.

He twists that in support of trans?

The pearl clutching on this thread about the republicans may lose the senate seat if they do not elect Cornyn in the runoff is comical. Talarico is worse than Tim Walz on the gayness vibe and aligns with many of his weirdo ideas, this will be a bloodbath once the ads start rolling using Talarico's own words and videos. The Fauci action figure alone means he goes down by 15 points imo.

Agreed. Besides, anytime I hear someone say "Person X is the most brilliant politician they've seen" that's an immediate red flag. Being called a "politician" is a bad word as far as I'm concerned. It usually means you are duplicitous scumbag with no morals or ethics.

In this case, you are correct in that he has fooled many. He fooled the TA Reagan Republican that he was moderate unless that poster knew all along that he was a far left radical and lied about it. He's been notably absent since all of this stuff has come out on Talarico, by the way.

Talarico has a far more polished political aura than Beto did. Beto had a ton of money behind him but he came across as a middle aged stoner living in his mom's basement. Talarico comes across as an adult, regardless of what else you can say about him.

Beto was hard to take seriously as a person. Talarico holds some radical positions but his personality strikes the average person as normal. And because the vast majority of voters who don't already have their party vote predetermined every election vote based on emotional and personality appeal that matters.

Hahaha holy crap how am I just now seeing this? He comes across as a very confused boy to me. He wants to come out so bad but he is waiting for the timing to be absolutely perfect. But sexuality aside, what kind of adult lectures church audiences about how we need to get rid of prisons and provide trans people with abortions? Or that there are SIX genders, or that abortion should be allowed up until baby is birthed, or that men belong in womens sports/locker rooms/showers? For some, that's all it takes...especially when they're desperately looking for someone that opposes Trump. They point out how 'reasonable' the person sounds and their calm demeanor. Of course, they're silent about other Democrats who don't speak calmly when criticizing Trump. But none the less...they try and create a narrative in which they're the voice of reason trying to be centrist and uniting like a big hug for humanity while the Republican side is mean and cold.

In the case of Talarico, it's especially easy for anti-Trump Christians to use him as a way of 'guilting' other Christians who vote Republican into supporting Democrat policies. They are trying to make people feel bad about supporting policies that make sense to them...based on nothing but pure emotion so they'll vote the other way.

We briefly saw something similar in 2020 with the whole "We need civility back in the White House" in trying to guilt others into voting for Biden. Of course, that was a lie...the Biden Administration wasn't civil or uniting at all. But some foolishly bought that narrative.

That's what Rogan does. He's not there to debate and usually doesn't get confrontational. He gives you a platform and has a conversation. He'll let the listener decide whether any of it makes sense. He'll share his take during another conversation when it comes up but he's not generally going to push back unless you're just simply lying and he knows it.
