I agree. For me on Form 1's and 4's, the mentality I've adopted is to just go on with my life until they start going over the "average" times. There are some cases where people have gotten them back in record time, but that is definitely an exception and not the norm. This IS the US government we're talking about, after all.

A delayed NICS can result in a disapproval if not addressed… after a certain number of days the FBI will close the NICS iirc.

I'd file for a UPIN and send that to FBI when approved

im having this same issue aswell. I submitted mine on 4/27 aswell but don't see it anywhere on the eforms website under my account.

Is that normal?

Just called John Carter's office to get an update on my inquiry. They received a response from ATF (don't know when) and sounds like AtF pointing the finger at FBI NICS. Carter's office said they'll contact FBI today or tomorrow. Hopefully that will get my Form 1 freed up. Day 143 and counting.

Finally after 147 days, paid Form 1 approved. Submitted April 18th. As stated above, apparently it got hung up at the FBI. No doubt contacting my Rep helped. Would be nice if I get a super fast approval on my Form 4!

My Form 4 was submitted on 3/1 and approved on 9/6… 189 days.

I recently did a Form 1 EFile as well. I don't recall the submission and approval dates, but it initially went into "pending research" status, ended up taking about 120 days.

I have had quite the debacle to sort through. I was on NICS hold and had to jump through some hoops to get that cleared. Got word this morning that they have cleared it and sent to the ATF for approval. Hopefully I should be completely clear in the next couple of weeks. Gigantic pain in the ass.

So kind of a dumb question but I've got a couple of cans fixing to be freed from jail.

What's the best way to work through what sort of barrel nuts, etc. I'll need for my firearms? A buddy showed me one of his with a tri-lug that is quick detach, appreciated that, but trying to work through what I'll need to get the cans hooked up (outside of armorer's tools and possibly a MAP torch to get existing hiders, etc. off?)
