I hate the 3 letter gov stuff. They are all inept. And it really burns me that something used to protect hearing and make shooting more enjoyable isn't sold over the counter.

From my rep......
Here is what the ATF said ~
Thank you for the inquiry. Here is the information that I was able to find for Shalackin:
1. eForm- was received on 01-31-2023. As of 11-15-2023, the application is PENDING with ATF because it is in a DELAYED status with the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
DELAYED status with FBI/NICS could mean that there's an issue in the applicant's record, or something that needs to be corrected or clarified. ATF cannot complete the transfer without a definitive PROCEED from FBI/NICS.
I will use the release form you sent me to inquire to the FBI on your background checks and let you know what I find out.
that was the email from the rep. I am not contacting anyone. They are.Bregxit said:
I bet your rep is going to go back to ATF now also.
I am sure. Hopefully my rep can call BS and escalate that with them.BMach said:
This is the exact same order of events that my inquiries through my rep produced. I'd expect you'll get the same response back from the ATF now that I did. They'll now say that there is a backlog and they'll get to it when they get to it, after trying to blame it on another organization and then getting called out on their bull*****
Better chance of the judiciary ripping it to shreds as they should. They tend to shy away from overturning federal legislation, even if clearly unconstitutional (like the NFA), due to will of the people and all that jazz. Which is BS, because their job should not be influenced by popular opinion or political forces, but that is the reality we live with.Bregxit said:Morpholino said:
The NFA is such a waste of time and tax payer money. I hope the next republican president has the cojones to abolish it.
Eh, congress has to pass a repeal first.
