Arriving at B today on United without a checked bag. Can I be picked up at B? Or is Marriott better? Cannot recall and search was unsuccessful. IAH app says pickup at B is possible, but I don't believe it.

My son picked me up outside of Terminal B last Sunday.

I don't think those two are codeshare partners so sounds very unlikely.

Maybe he meant Sky West or one of the other regionals DBA United.

Although, come to think of it I don't think United has any smaller regional service out of AUS. I think they're all United actual flights on 737 or equivalent.
And flying out of a smaller regional airport really helps my status game with the number of segments you get with layovers. Sure you can get bit in the ass on a layover, but I guess I've been lucky as I haven't had many issues over the past few years.

not aware of Spirit using those regional partners. Even if they do, they wouldn't market it as a United flight.

Are you sure they didn't book through a 3rd party site and ended up with Spirit instead of United?

Because, as Diggity mentioned, those two don't codeshare. Spirit is not a Star Alliance member.

United, more recently, has taken a direct attack against Spirit's flights.

This was two years ago so maybe it's different now, but I'm 100% sure it was United operated by ________, and I'm pretty that was Spirit.

I know because a co-worker and I almost booked that flight and decided against it and drove to IAH instead and flew an early flight on United.

I have a business class United flight to Sydney tonight at 825. Based on comments on over the past few days, dropoff at E, bag check and security through E is the way to go, right? Lines have been manageable for Pre-Check from what I can tell.

Not a regular international flyer to appreciate the FF advise!

Interesting. I arrived in B yesterday and didn't see a way to access pickup around B. I had to walk the temporary connector to the skytrain and then go to either A or C. I went to C at 3:30 pm yesterday and the traffic in the pickup lanes was the lightest I've experienced. Likely due to luck and number of flights being handled at that time.

This is the first I've heard of being able to access B at all except via airside skyway...so I don't know that I'd plan that route

E check in and security was a breeze at 7:00am this morning. United not so much. Been boarding our flight for a damn hour now - 737 should not take this long to board.

If I had to guess, everyone has a carry-on that they are trying to fit into the overhead bin, with varying success.

When you 25 pre-boards, 15 actual wheelchair preboards that can't make it down the aisle, and 100 others who have never flown and can't read the seat numbers combined with everyone wanting to fit their 1990s oversize carryon it takes time

I am on a plane 30-50 flights per year and always wondered why people were always looking at numbers like they had no idea where they were.

Not being able to read the seat numbers made it all make sense!

I get when they first get to the cattle (economy) class as the first row may not be the true numbering (e.g. 4 row of first class and economy starts row 9), but when they just step on the plane and are row 28, they shouldn't need to stop at row 3.

The random jump from row 12-14 to 20 (exit row) is confusing as well

Only one wheel chair and no pre-boards. They said it was because the last group of passengers were required to check their bags at the gate. Which was strange because there were still spaces in the over head. Then United said they had to rearrange some stuff due balance out the weight.

I've seen them take off checked bags for weight before…that was fun landing at IAH knowing our bags wouldn't be there (with about 30 of our new friends)

Same here. Flew out of terminal E on Thursday and the security line was super short. The CLEAR line had more people in it lol. I was surprised how smooth everything went flying back and forth this weekend.

I just went through A in less than 5, Precheck. Regular screening looked barely longer. Plenty of parking in garage.

Took train to E, which as I walked by looked to be pretty long but moving.

21 minutes through the pre-line at terminal E just now. I bet the clear line takes twice as long, general might even be faster than clear, hard to tell. Clear very slow.

Clear has made it to worthless status.

I can't recall the last time I 'saved' time using it. Hell, I really don't anymore. Pre is faster. Guess I'll deal with the inconvenience of getting my license out.

It's really the only benefit at IAH (some airports it actually saves time)...I'm definitely dropping it once 1K status doesn't pick it up for free anymore
