Haha! We may have been searching on different days, too. But yeah, I bet the United website is seeing some traffic with this itinerary.

ITA also had a 20% off code yesterday that was working for the new flight. It's gone now, but it was called something like "Travel Tuesday", so maybe it's a recurring promotion. Or is the Tuesday after Black Friday now called "Travel Tuesday"?

Looks like they only fly out certain days of the week (or haven't released their full schedule yet).

The KHOU story said they are starting with Wed, Fri, Sun but will add Mon and Sat on June 1.

The Tuesday after Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday is Travel Tuesday. I wasn't really looking, but didn't see any huge deals.

That explains the 20% discount code on the ITA website. It was valid and working yesterday, but it's gone now.

Still bodes well, though, as when was the last time you saw United offering a discount code of any kind.

We just did a vacation to Italy and Greece over Thanksgiving (left Nov 19 and came back Dec 1). Too bad we didn't have this flight.

United/Luft from IAH to Frank to Rome...travel back was Aegean/United from Athens to Mun to IAH. Munich airport is huge! 11 hours from there to IAH was a long flight.

That MUC to IAH flight is not my favorite. It used to be on a 767, which was absolutely miserable. Most uncomfortable airplane seats I've ever sat in. The upgrade to the 777 was an improvement.

I flew iah to Florence last month and think I found routing with better pricing on the Star Alliance booking website. Maybe I missed a few page downs on the United website, but I found a partial business class ticket (all business except economy on Frankfurt to London) with one additional connection on the return that was $4000 cheaper than what I found on United. Of course my bag didn't make the connection in Frankfurt both ways due to a tight connection, but all worked out in the end.

E was a breeze this morning, but the United Club is a zoo. I'm not sure why anyone would pay to get in. It must be "get to the airport hours early in your pajamas and sleep in the lounge" day.

They were a mess prior to the Terminal B shutdown. So add that on top of people arriving earlier now with recent slow TSA scares and holiday travel a complete bleep-show is expected!

It was my first time in the normal club in a while, and hopefully it's the last for a while. I got spoiled to the Polaris lounge over the summer. Wildly different experience.

Looks like American has gates at B (per my boarding pass).

Family will be picking me up.
Is the roadway around B open for pickup? I forget what roads/drives are closed.

Also, any word on security at B for my flight out next week?

American is at A. Are you looking at your gate leaving your airport? United owns B, C and E.

Yeah.... I think i got the gates confused.... just checked again and it's b from DFW and unassigned at IAH.
So probably terminal A at IAH.

Same questions though regarding getting picked up.

I tried looking at the online map and the IAH website might be one of the worst I've seen for providing information.
Shreveport's is better.

You cannot get dropped off or picked up at Terminal B. That whole lobby is closed. If you land at terminal B, take the sky train to terminal A for your pickup.

No problems with bag check or security at C this morning.

Untied called people to line up for boarding. Then 4 minutes later tells us there is a problem with the plane. 5 minutes after that the captain comes out and says a light came on on the way in. They are looking at it and will see if they can fix it. Til then just stand around. 25 minutes past boarding time right now.
