If IAH can get to touchless Pre, it will put Clear out of business. DEN has it and it's great, no line walk up take a pic and you're thru no need to show your DL.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but precheck at e has the photo touchless thing. He just took my picture and scanned my boarding pass. Dude didn't ask me for ID at all.
its been a few weeks since ive flown - missed all of the shutdown excitement. flying out of C tomorrow - its it business as usual or do i have to do the E stuff they talked about a couple weeks ago? usually park in C garage - that still ok?

yep. and it ain't really that fast, takes a bit for them to okay you after the pic. Maybe it will get faster.
Wife is flying today out of C. Checked bags at United C and then did regular security line whi h took 15 min.
Alternative was to go over to E after checking bags for pre and then back to gate at C.

That has not been the case. I checked bags there last Thursday.

I made it through pre check security at E in under 5 min at 10:30 this morning.

D has been closed the last few weeks, I'd assume they walk you over to E security after you check a bag
Ultimately D check-in in is moving to the new E but who knows when that is actually going to happen.
I fly international on BA occassionally. Last trip was a minor hassle as bus would only drop off at E, so had to walk over to D to check bag and then back to E for security to go back to D3 to catch flight. In the big scheme of things, not a huge deal as airport was not busy but sticks at me as being really inefficent.
Going through E security was a breeze the last time, but curious that they would not be trying to reopen C, espeically with the Thanksgiving holiday travel period next week.

As of this moment, terminal C baggage is open, and it looked like clear and TSA pre-were open as well, the side that is normally general is not open.
Weird, I wonder why they are lagging on a full re-open, considering the govt is now up and running.

A north PreCheck was 5 mins this morning.
E pre-check this morning 5 people ahead of me in line and 3 agents checking. Clear was zero people and 1 extra agent for clear/pre-check.
Figured out families flight to Mexico Friday is flying out of D, suggested to check in at E.

When we left for Italy 2 weeks ago, we breezed through checking bags at D, clearing security in E and walking back to D. I was in the Premier lounge drinking a beer in less than 50 minutes.
Coming home was a different story. I don't have Global Entry. (I know, I know. What a loser)
Arrived in Term E on United. After making a claim for lost luggage... My wife and I and another couple flew Florence-Frankfurt_IAH, but apparently are bags went to Zurich.
Went to Customs and Immigration with approx 300 other people to see there were exactly 3 lines open. Our friends had GI and breezed through, but it took us over an hour.
This was not the middle of the night. It was 5:50 pm local. Three C&I agents.
When we left for Italy 2 weeks ago, we breezed through checking bags at D, clearing security in E and walking back to D. I was in the Premier lounge drinking a beer in less than 50 minutes.

That's pretty normal. Customs officers don't exactly have control over when an overseas A380 will arrive. Now just imagine that place when two arrive at the same time.
I get that Ducks, but, they should be able to read an airline schedule. They're done weeks/months in advance.

I returned from a trip to Florence a couple weeks ago. Did you fly Air Dolomiti from Frankfurt to Florence? My bags didn't make the connection in Frankfurt either time. And Air Dolomiti is owed by Lufthansa. So much for the fabled Teutonic efficiency of days past.
Exact same flight. Bags went to Zurich. Flown to Munich today. Won't arrive in IAH until tomorrow.
