Wat.

Explanation of why they have to do this

Are the Cs taking advice from Isaiah Thomas? The contracts they just picked up: Humphries 12mm, Gerald Wallace 10mm, Keith Bogans 4.4mm, Marshon Brooks 1.2mm, Kris Joseph .8mm. Which means they are paying 38.4mm annually for combined production of 23.1 and 13 (way less in the playoffs).

And they have greater financial obligations for a longer time. They managed to hurt their salary cap situation, it appears.

I'd say prepare for a lot of apathy.

Dallas returns Dirk, Marion, and VC, and I'm not sure what their plan is for a point or shooting guard.

Maybe they will get Greivis Vasquez from NO, because there isn't a lot out there for PGs.

Just heard that Pelicans offer to Tyreke Evans would be 4 years, $40 mil. That's a $35 mil-per-year backcourt, assuming Eric Gordon stays

WTF Pelicans? Why not just go after Monta?

quote:
Tom Ziller @teamziller

Tyreke is a good kid. But he's not signing a deal to come off the bench for a lottery team.

I hope the Pelicans sign Tyreke, and run him out there with Glass Gordon and Jrue. That would ensure a the highest paid backcourt in the SW with the most frustrated frontcourt that never gets to touch the ball.

For those into Internet rumors

NBA Legion þ@MySportsLegion 19h
Pistons and Rockets potentially could have a deal in place that would involve Jeremy Lin and Jose Calderon in a sign and trade. (CBSSports)

Dallas Mavs also interested in JC.

No they don't...Bogans and Humprhies are free agents after this coming season and Joseph and Brooks will be after the following season...the only bad contract they took back was Wallace's.

For those who like their centers with an injury history (From ESPN):

Greg Oden will likely choose from a group of suitors that includes the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies, a source close to Oden told ESPN.com

The only connection I see to Memphis is the Mike Conley Jr. & Mike Conley Sr. angle. But with the addition of Koufos from Denver, there isn't much playing time (unless that is what he is looking for).
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
In five years Oden has played 82 games averaging 9 points, 7 boards, and 1.4 blocks. A super cheap 1 year deal might be worth the risk if the doctors think he can play.

At first I thought they are too; however, after looking at it again they could use Tyreke as an overqualified 6th man. You pair him with Vasquez to sub in after Jrue and Gordon and you don't lose any offensive production.

Except Evans isn't proven. He had an awesome rookie season, but has declined every year since then. I think in the right organization he could potentially blossom, but to offer $12 mil a year for the hope that he develops more?
