I didn't see this created yet, so I thought I'd make one.

Rumor that the Mavs might want Pau Gasol. I hate this almost more than the idea of going after Carmello. Do we really want to try another finesse/shooting Center to pair with finesse/shooting Dirk? Was Kaman not enough for us? Hopefully just a bad rumor.

Supposedly significant. $10m or so is the rumor. Shawn Marion also would sign for a significant paycut it's rumored.

Marion was at ~9.5mm and Vince was at ~3mm. DeJuan Barkley and Devin Harris were under a million each.

If you resign those five at 10mm, 5mm, 3mm, 1mm, 1mm then Dallas still has ~12mm under the cap to find someone else.

I would love to see the Mavs add Gortat from Washington. He won't be cheap, but I think he would be a good fit, and hopefully Dirk could convince a fellow European to join the team.

Personally, I think the Polish Hammer is a bit overrated and will end up getting a contract he can't live up to this off-season.

Dallas went after him before, so it wouldn't surprise me if they went after him again.

I think Washington overpays to keep him when all is said and done.

I heard Lebron's wife was checking out houses in Highland Park...

I think the Mavs' best hope is to fleece some team looking to dump players to make room to even have a chance at Lebron or Carmelo or Bosh.

Ugh I don;t know. That's what got us in the mess we were in in 2012. We pinned all our hopes on DWill and we wound up with nothing surrounding Dirk. Last year we pinned moderate hopes on Howard but at least had a back up plan with Monta.

All I'm saying is, you can't bank on getting a huge max-contract free agent. Never let hope be your strategy. They don't generally want to come to Dallas. Not when Miami, Chicago, LA, and NY are all potential landing spots.

Oh yeh, definitely agree about DWill. And to be honest I was leery of Howard too, although he's been better than I expected in Houston.

I just think you can't sell off all your players and draft pix in an effort get LeBron. It's a fools errand. Feel free to try to get him to agree to a sign and trade, but until then, manage your team with normal expectations.

I'm more sold on Dwight than I am on Harden. I just think Dwight needs to be your #2 guy and I think he is fine with that. I just don't think you can win it all with Harden as your #1 guy.

I love potentially getting Tyson Chandler back in a Mavs uniform. He's as good of a defensive Center if not better than Dalembert and he sure is a better scorer/rebounder. Hopefully this means we are going to re-sign Devin Harris. Surely we are not gonna roll with Gal Mekel as our back-up PG...

Wow. Big roster shakeup. I think Dalembert really sucks and could never handle Carlisle so I'm a big fan of the trade.

I also didn't think Calderon was a great fit with dirk. When the other team puts those two in a pick and roll it was a nightmare

Is Larkin thought of as a good prospect? If so, I hate to give him up for what I imagine is another peiced together team trying to squeek into the playoffs as a 6-8 seed.

Yeh I assume we will dump Felton if that's possible? How much does he make? Although we do need someone to play PG. Convince Kidd to come out of retirement? :P

Are the Knicks going to pay some of Chandler's salary? If not what's the point, why didn't we sign Tyson 3 years ago when he wasn't damaged goods?

Also, is this a ploy to get Carmelo here?

No doubt. And then also remember how well Chandler and Dirk ran the pick and roll during their championship year. Yes - Chandler has more miles on him - so that tempers my enthusiasm a bit. Still love this trade though.

As to point guard, we do still have Devin Harris. After his play in the playoffs, as long as he's healthy, I'm ok with him as a starter.
