Luka was cut after the Orlando game. Which means that letting that fast break dunk go is just who he is. Which means that the Spurs made the right decision.

I guess I was only half-way paying attention to the Lakers this offseason but they really got old. They are putting all of their chips on old superstar veterans with almost no youth at all.

Davis is still young at 28 and Westbrook is only 32 but from there you have Lebron 36, Ariza 36, Anthony 37, Rondo 35, Howard 35, Jordan 33, Bazemore 32 and Matthews 34.

It will be interesting to see how that plays out in a long season and the tough Western Conference. Not sure they will be able to hang with the young athletic teams all season.

I agree. It makes me laugh when I see all of the experts having the Lakers as the clear cut favorites to win the west. I get that is partly due to the fact of the question marks of Kawhi, Klay and Murray. But man it is a team full of ball stoppers who can't shoot. On top of that, their defense is really going to take a dip. And that doesn't even begin to address the injury history of AD. They should have traded for Hield and kept KCP instead of going all in on WB. So dumb. But hey, as a Laker hater, I'm not complaining and will enjoy the implosion.

I would give White, Lonnie, Young and two firsts for him. That's about it. I think he would work well for the Spurs, but I don't think he's a top 10 NBA player.

Personally I like White more than Murray. Plus he's a much better offensive player to pair with Simmons. Outside of that, yeah that's a fair trade in my book. Even then, I wouldn't trade for him unless he went out of his way to convince me that he's all in to the Spurs plan for him. His reputation right now is that he's lazy and selfish, not exactly Spursy.

The problem is Philly thinks Simmons should get you a superstar in return.

And BTW, Pop's track record for cutting players who turn out to be something is pretty damn good. Raja Bell is probably the biggest name cut in his 20+ years in coaching. Only other player I can think of is Temple? Plus it's not like he makes this decision on his own.

I'll be curious to see if we value KBD's development potential more or Aminu's $10 million expiring contract more. $25 million in expiring contracts, with one of those guys having a lot of value for any contender, could bring in some really valuable assets if we were willing to take on a clunky contract in return.

I have a good feeling about this young team. Seem to be having fun and working hard.
Good enough feeling to put some money down on +1000 on making the playoffs. Its a long shot but if we grab Simmons and this team keeps it up anything is possible.

I agree that I think the Spurs will over achieve. I think they will beat the Vegas line but will just miss out on the play in.

Interesting where Simmons will end up. With his stunt today I'm sure there is a team (Spurs) or two that will have lost interest.

Im sure Pop is really salivating over getting a prima dona non shooting cancer on this team.

Seriously, I dont any scenario where Simmons ends up in SA. I dont see the Spurs giving up core players for him. And outside of Thad, no non core players make enough to get a legal trade worked out. I mean we're talking Thad, Collins, picks and you still need 15m in salary. Very little chance.
