In less than a week, they paired Luka with the best center he's played with in his career. Very kind of Nico to leave assets behind to help Rob Pelinka make that happen!mavsfan4ever said:
Lakers are able to trade for mark Williams with the assets that Nico left on the table. Huge pickup for them.
Come on man y'all are just being ridiculous now. Lively is way better than Williams, and Gafford just completely ate Williams' lunch in Charlotte a couple weeks ago. Also Mark Williams has been hurt in his first 3 years more than AD was in the 3 years that got him the nickname "Street Clothes," his 9th, 10th, and 11th years in the NBA. At least have consistency.Zachary Klement said:In less than a week, they paired Luka with the best center he's played with in his career. ETA: they fleeced Charlotte too. Maybe the NBA really does just feed talent to LA.
He is talented but he has only played in 83 out of 212 possible games including fewer than half the games this year. I think Charlotte probably ends up the winner here. He can't stay on the court, I don't know how you rely on him for the playoffs.Zachary Klement said:In less than a week, they paired Luka with the best center he's played with in his career. I mean if there is one dude in the league that can show Luka how to take care of your body for longevity, its LeBron.1876er said:
He's gonna show up to Dallas at 220 looking like 25 year old LeBron.
Yep. Notice how LAL didn't send any of their backup bigs. Who aren't even that good, but they know they will need to have bodies.Guitarsoup said:He is talented but he has only played in 83 out of 212 possible games including fewer than half the games this year. The Sixers are now sending an additional 2030 second-round pick to Dallas as an amended aspect of Philadelphia's trade earlier this week to send Caleb Martin to the Mavericks, league sources tell @TheSteinLine.

Caleb Martin has been sidelined with a recent hip injury and was said to be nearing a return for the Sixers, but after consultation between both teams and the league office, Philadelphia has agreed to send an additional second-rounder to Dallas, league sources tell @TheSteinLine. https://t.co/etBvwqd9ML

that's what I'm thinking too. shady af if they did it nefariouslyshack009 said:
Philly had upgraded Martin to Questionable right before the Mavs game. Wonder of the league viewed that as deceiving.
Sounds like the timeline is more weeks than months though. The team needs the all star break really badly.

The Mavs are optimistic that F Caleb Martin will return from his hip injury in 2-3 weeks, sources said.

As @TheSteinLine reported, the terms of the trade with the Sixers were amended after Martin’s physical to add a 2030 second-round pick to Dallas’ return for Quentin Grimes…

Williams is a good player but the hyperbole and histrionics have reached critical levels...
I will have to see how I feel about watching this team. I almost think I'm going to root against them, with hopes that Nico gets physically assaulted trying to leave AAC after a blowout loss to Houston.shack009 said:
AD expected to make debut on Saturday. Good move to hold him out tonight.
Hold out anybody else who may need to rest/recover from anything. Let Christie/Exum/OMax get tons of playing time tonight.
