Why did Mitch take Castle out when he was defending Young well???

I don't know. But Sochan did an awful job on him.

Curry ending his career on a non-contender. Wouldn't be surprised if they do right by him and ship him off to one.
Imagine thinking that Butler and Draymond on the same team was the right move.

Too bad Draymond doesn't have the balls to swing on him.

We actually ran a good clutch play in the end! Fox, what a hell of a debut.

Ya know, I think that Fox kid might be ok.

Other than the atrocious 3rd quarter, that was a lot of fun to watch. Having multiple real PGs plus Castle to distribute out there really opened up the offense. Once we add more shooting, watch out.

That 3 PG lineup in the 4th was wild. Lucky to walk away with that one. Good play call at the end by Mitch despite completely fumbling in the 3rd.

Weird seeing Mike Finley run so fast all over the court

Said the same thing. Why take castle off young. A game that should have been blowout but end up winning by 1.

Fox slowed down a bit in the 2nd half, but I'm happy with the debut

Yeah. Had 18 in the first half but then only 6 in the second. He gets a pass his first game.

Sochan had 15 points. I want to say the majority if not all were in the paint. Sochan should not take any shots outside the paint again.

Mitch manages by spreadsheet of minutes. It was time for him to come out, on court situation be damned

They traded one of the firsts from Siakam for Olynyk.
Essentially Siakam for Ingram and Jaakobe Walter.

Interested to see if Ingram comes back soon. It would be great if the Raptors go for the play in.

The raptors just can't seem to really commit to the rebuild. Keep adding guys to stay just relevant enough that they won't really have a great shot in the lottery.

They have been really hot lately. Intern has been out for 8 weeks on a high ankle sprain so you would think he's getting close. Also, if he wants a new big contract he kind of needs to be on the court at some point

I do kind of like their initial rotation right now.

Jakob Poeltl
Scottie Barnes
Brandon Ingram
RJ Barrett
Im Quickley.

Their bench needs size.

Boucher
Dick (Theoretical shooter, 35%)
Abajji (actual shooter, 41%)
Davion Mitchell (defense minded PG, 35%)
Jamal Shead (defense minded PG, 35%)
JaKobe Walter - maybe a 6th man scorer at some point in thefuture

Quickley has been hurt all year, but last year he was a 19/7 guy after he moved to Toronto.

I think like you said, they were never really committed to the tank, so they really only got Dick out of the draft. But this is probably a team that needs a backup center to replace Olynyk and they are competitive for the 3-6 spots in the East if healthy.

Sidy already waived by Washington. Was looking forward to a front court of Sarr, Bilal, and Sidy. These guys are the worst tankers in the world.

Cavs trying to bring in Hunter.

Dean Wade and LaVert? LaVert is a FA next year and Dean Wade is cheap.

Okoro and Niang?

Hawks want to cut salary, too. Cleveland is almost 2M over the tax. Atlanta is 1.2M under the luxury tax.

Would have to be a 3-way deal.

LaVert, Dean Wade, Branham and Wesley to Hawks

Hunter, Bassey to Cavs

Larry Nance and Jason Tyson (Tech guy from Plano) to Spurs

Hawks cut 4.5M, Cavs cut 2.3M and Spurs gain salary and a center and rookie contract.

Nance is a C? Going from Bassey to Nance just gets you smaller.

He is shorter, but heavier and has huge ups (his old man won the dunk competition)

Plus he is hitting 44% of his threes, so he could play backup C and could also play next to Wemby.

https://craftednba.com/players/larry-nance-jr.

He would be a massive upgrade, even if he isn't the ideal guy long term.

I would be OK with them just going with a temporary replacement for now. There are some good big men to be had in the draft. Now that they have their PG, they can add a C-PF in the draft.

This draft will be really interesting. Top 3 are Flagg, Harper, and Ace Bailey and all would be incredible.

After that, there is a group of VJ Edgecomb (Baylor), Kasparas Janakacious [sic], Tre Johnson (sip). I would love VJ or Tre, I don;t like KJ.

Then Duke's Kon Knueppel seems like he would be a perfect guy for us. Liam McNeeley is probably a step down right now, but he would also be an ideal fit and also from UCONN.

Asa Newell from UGA or Collin Murray Boyles from SoCarolina would both be good PFs, but neither can shoot and I dont know that we can get them and play Jeremy.

I really like Israeli guard Ben Saraf, and he reminds me a lot of Manu.

As far as centers, Khaman Malauch from Duke is probably going to be able to step in and play a lot like Dereck Lively. He would be a really good get with one of our picks if we can get a pure shooter/scorer like CJ, Tre, Liam, or Kon with the other.

There is also Derek Queen, but I think he is one of those no defense all offense centers that isn't really what we want.

My secondary choice for center is Thomas Sorber from Georgetown. I could even be convinced to take him over Malauch because he is more well rounded, even if Malauch has better measurables.

My darkhorse is PF Rasheer Fleming from St. Joseph's. He is a junior, but a young one at 20. He is shooting 56/41 with 4.8 3pfga per game. He is also putting up 16/9 and can guard on the perimeter and in the paint (1.5spg andn 1.5bpg.) He wouldn't be a backup center, but I think he could start at PF within a year.
