I said in the summer/fall that i would be surprised if she didn't crack the lineup. Her playing pro tournaments has only prepared her for this. She's not the best mover, but but she hits the ball and doesn't have a ton of unforced errors.

"Limiting unforced errors" has to be the most boring stratrgy, but the most effective way to win matches.
She's consistent and solid and her UTR keeps climbing. Might need to flip 5 and 6 or bring Jeanette into the lineup. I'm not sure what else can be done to get Daria over this mental hump. Supremely talented; just struggles to close out matches.

Georgia barely avoids the doubles point tiebreaker trend and wins their last doubles match 7-5.
hard to tell tone through text, but by no means did I mean that lex is a "limiting unforced errors" aka just get the ball back player. She's quite the opposite, changing direction a ton, steps into the court to take the ball early, and drives the ball (what I meant by "hits the ball"), she just gets less unforced errors than Nicole who has a similar approach in style.
"just get the ball back player" sounds like most of Daria's opponents until they see an opportunity to strike. I really wish she could have played her third set.
But hey, its a 4-0 win adjusting to indoors AND playing so late. I'll take it.

This is exactly how you beat Daria currently. Keep the ball in play and let her make the mistakes. Once she gets more consistent (mentally) she will be tough to beat. Some never get over the hill; many do, though.
My apologies, I was not being snarky towards you or your comment. I feel like "limiting unforced errors" is a very "unsexy" strategy among young players, but honestly it's the most successful way to win lots of matches.
And you see this strategy at lines 4-5-6 tbh. Tough lines to play.

If I'm coach Weaver, tomorrow Lexington is playing #5 and Jeanette is playing #6. It's not just how well you hit the ball, but knowing how to grind out Ws.

I know I'm biased but I still take Mary over anyone in the country.
Tough match today against Texas. I am confident that we are the better team, but they certainly have enough talent to upset us if we don't bring our A game.
On paper, we have a 1 point team UTR advantage. If you look at the individual matchups based on this, we are slight favorites lines 1-4 and Texas has an edge at 5 and 6. That said, I think Lexington wins her match at #6.
Doubles will be key. They won a very tight doubles point against OSU and then rolled with the momentum in singles. Their 4-6 especially looked good with dominate wins.
My prediction: we come out and get revenge for last year. Win a tight doubles point and then leverage our strength at the top.

i dont know about Lexington's match. Ovrootsky is about as bad as a match up as you can get for lex. She's a pusher who will then hit 1 aggressive shot occasionally. If lex is going to win she's going to have to hit her completely off the court, otherwise ovrootsky might move her around enough to make lex uncomfortable.

OU's win guarantees 3/4 semi finalists are SEC teams. That's Crazy!!! SEC is about to have a ton of points to throw around during conference play.
