How do they not have a Roku or Fire TV app at launch date? HBO has seriously dropped the ball on this rollout.
That's what I did. It works fine.GinaLinetti said:
And I am also bummed that max content isn't on roku yet. Gotta download the app on the Xbox I guess for now
I would have dropped DTV before now but their call wait times have been atrocious. You can't cancel over chat, unfortunately.TCTTS said:
You and I are in the exact same boat, save for the Xbox charge. But yeah, the same provider, services, and costs, essentially. And will be dropping DTV soon for YouTube TV as well.

YouBet said:I'm still going to pay less once I dump DTV:HtownAg92 said:I'm with ATT also. It looks like I will pay more for non-bundled internet, but not have to pay the HBO Max sub, so could even out. I've been with them forever, so I'm going to ask for the intro price for new subs or threaten to bail. It always works when you tell them you will look elsewhere.YouBet said:
Definitely confusing. I just logged into my AT&T account and got the MAX banner via AT&T Internet 1000 which I have. So, I set that up through my AT&T internet account.
I still have my DTV account which I'm cancelling soon (which I've been saying for months now). My DTV account still has the $17.99 HBO charge on there so I guess I'm paying for HBO less than MAX while getting MAX for free until I cancel DTV.
YouTube TV - $54
Netflix - $14
Hulu - $13
Amazon Prime - $10
Xbox Live Gold - $8
Disney+ - $6
So, DTV would have to get to $54/mo for me to keep them because that other stuff isn't going anywhere. Even adding all of the above together ($105/mo) it's still cheaper than what I pay for DTV alone.
AT&T Internet 1000 - $75

I had DTV with the Genies in a total of three rooms. With HBO and Cinemax, it was like $180 or something ruh-tarded, and it was bundled with ATT internet. I have Prime for the shipping, Netflix, and got Disney+ plus free for a year through Verizon. I had ad supported Hulu free with Spotify. When I cancelled DTV, they gave me 5hit about my internet going up and tried to sell my on basic TV packages to keep the bundled pricing. I said if and when that happens I'll just cancel the whole damn tihng.
A week or so later I tried the chat to see what the new internet cost would be. Dingus said they couldn't tell me until "the system" generated the new bill. Waited a couple of days and tried the chat telling them I just wanted to cancel since they couldn't give me a real answer, and because the price went up. Magically they had an offer that was lower than my original price.
You couldn't pay me to go back to DTV. My 'that's it' moment was when I realized what I was paying in order to have, for example, reruns of the Dinah Shore show on Jewish Living Television on channel 355839.

Samsung TV, I search and downloaded the HBOMax app but when I open the app it is actually the HBONow app. Was just going to poke around and see whats it all about. Any idea how to actually get the HBOMax app?
Never had HBO Now, so unfortunately I cannot log out. I was able to download and view content on my laptop. My television app says HBO Max but once opened, it wants credentials for HBO Now. I entered my Direct/At&t login and password but it was a no-go.hph6203 said:

I have a samsung tv, bought in the past 12 months, the HBO Max app was available to download last night.Birddog said:Never had HBO Now, so unfortunately I cannot log out. Anyone have LG TV find an app yet? I haven't found one yet and did not have HBO go in the past as Suddenlink was not contracted with HBO Go.Archbishop Moto Moto said:I have a samsung tv, bought in the past 12 months, the HBO Max app was available to download last night.Birddog said:Never had HBO Now, so unfortunately I cannot log out. When I returned some AT&T routers last week, the UPS guy asked me to peek my head behind desk and he had STACKS of DTV returns waiting to be processed.UnderoosAg said:rynning said:

"His American name is Jeff" said on the chat I could take the boxes to any FedEx or UPS store to ship back. When I went to the UPS store, I got as far as "I'd like to re.." Sweet old lady nodded and banged it out in no time. She knew what it was, that I didn't need remotes, what number to scan, warned me to save receipts with equipment id numbers and shipping receipt, etc. I said wow, you must have done this before. She said I do these all day every day.
Thanks Bill, I'll just stick to Chromecast for now, works well as long as I turn off my VPN on the phone first.GiveEmHellBill said:
As far as I could find out online, LG tv's do not have the HBO apps. I've had to use my PS4 for HBO Go and now Max. They also don't support ESPN+.
I did. I have all three hbo apps through the Samsung app service on my tv.Birddog said:Archbishop Moto Moto said:I have a samsung tv, bought in the past 12 months, the HBO Max app was available to download last night.Birddog said:Never had HBO Now, so unfortunately I cannot log out. I search and the icon says HBO Max So it appears as though the Max app is there, but when you open it it says HBO Now inside the app. Did you actually open and download Max?

When I open the max up, its the max interface.
We are Amazon fire device users for streaming and cant wait for it to come out on that.
Yes, I was paying for HBO through DTV and if I hadn't cancelled DTV altogether I would have at least removed HBO from my package since I'm now getting it free through 1000 internet.MSFC Aggie said:
I'm a bit confused. I currently have Uverse and pay for HBO. But I'm about to upgrade to the 1000 MB internet plan. And then I plan to drop Uverse and go with a streaming package (probably Youtube TV plus some others). So does that mean I can drop my HBO subscription, and get it free because I"m getting 1000 MB internet? Is the free HBO a permanent thing, or just for like 3 months or something?
