Kind of interesting they seemed to have bumped down Captain Boomerang. His character is dumb as hell and normally Jai Courtney is lame. But I actually thought he was surprisingly good in the first one and he is one of the staple members of the Suicide Squad in any iteration


Guessing that's Ratcatcher in the top left? Interesting she is getting that much real estate on the poster

Over/under on survivors is what, 5?

Margot Robbie is safe, and Cena prob is with his spinoff (though I guess it could always be a prequel ala Star Wars Andor). But no one else is safe right?

Particularly excited to see Flula Borg and Pete Davidson.

Technically, it's not the *exact* same name. The first one was Suicide Squad, this one is The Suicide Squad. But basically the same, yeah. As for its relation, from a post of mine on the previous page...

What happened in the first movie happened. But because the first one was such a train wreck, and they were able to snag Gunn for a follow-up, who no doubt wanted to put his own spin on things, WB likely thought it best to come at this from a slightly different angle.

I know Agee is doing the mocap for him, but I don't think he's doing the voice (I could be wrong). He's also playing another guy in the movie - looks like one of Waller's underlings - and he'll be in the John Cena spinoff.

So guessing King Shark will be voiced by either Stallone, or Taika Waititi. If Waititi plays him, obviously it would be funny... but feels like he'd just be doing Korg all over again unless he has a different approach.

I'm betting out of those two, the one who doesn't play King Shark will play Starro, if he is indeed in this movie. And he probably is because that's the most James Gunn thing there could be.

I agree, I was expecting a crazy free-for-all but I would like thank James Gunn for welcoming back one of my favorite actors of all-time to the DC Universe; THE SUN

The first Suicide Squad looked to have been filmed in the proverbial hole that Viola Davis locks people up in before throwing it away. Why spend millions on costumes and set design and then film the movie in a broom closet?

If the preview is any indication, this is the role that takes Idris Elba from superstar to global megastar and finally earns him the 007 crown. The rest seem hit or miss. John Cena sounds like he's channeling Starlord, I barely got any Nathan Fillion - a cardinal sin - and the shark guy ... I mean, my favorite Marvel movie has a tree that talks and a raccoon shooting a machine gun so I know I seem hypocritical, but yeah, that's quite a shark. How does that guy fit in any sort of normal vehicle?

Another positive is no sign of the Joker. It seemed like the entire marketing campaign from magazine covers to trailers was fixated on him before the first of these.

I just hope it's fun. I have zero idea who 90% of the comic book characters are which I view as a positive. They're using so many of Gunn's regular crew I think the real title might be DC Comics Presents James Gunn's Guardians of the Suicide Squad.

King Shark did look a little digital, but five months out there's a good chance that's not final CG.

This is my favorite recurring bit on this forum and I laugh out loud any time I see it. Bravo, good sir.


Anyway, this looks fun but weird. Weird for Flagg to suddenly have a fun personality. Weird that there's another literal "why would someone put ****s all over the beach?" type of character/humor. Weird to suddenly have wacky **** in this DC universe. I know they exist in comics but this is all at once, and without the hand-wave of "mutants" or "it's in space."

I could see myself really enjoying it, but then being unable to insert it into the DCEU in my mind and almost having to treat it like it's its own non-canonical one-off. But I'm sure I'm overexaggerating.

She's an original character that is supposed to be continuing the legacy of Batman villain Ratcatcher, but called Ratcatcher 2.

Basically uses a whistle or something to control rats. Pretty gross.
