What a different a new trailer makes. I had zero interest after Trailer 1, but Trailer 2 has me ready to make this my first DC film since Man of Steel.

Very intrigued after that trailer.

Also, if this film is as fun as the trailer suggests it could be, then could Gunn be labeled the "best ensemble superhero movie director" ? I know it's an obscure title I just came up with, but wrangling a bunch of side characters into a fun film that audiences can keep up with is not easy.

with civil war, infinity war and endgame all being ensembles, think the Russo's still get the nod.

now if you want to tweak it to be "lesser known" superheroes, then sure. not even sure anybody else merits mention.

James Gunn has said you don't even need prior knowledge of the first movie. This is basically it's own, stand-alone thing (though it does take place in the DCEU).

I just noticed Idris Elba is credited as a character named Bloodsport. Am I the only one who thought he was a recast Deadshot?

According to Wiki, it started out that way but Gunn liked the Bloodsport character from the comics. Also allows Will Smith to come back as Deadshot in a later film.

While I am not here to say Aquaman was great. It was decidedly average. But Aquaman is not even the worst DC movie.

Wonder Woman 1984 says hello.
So does Batman v Superman.

Edit to add Original Suicide Squad and maybe Birds of Prey. Whedon's Justice League.

I think all of these are worse than Aquaman.
