For what it is worth, I generally liked the bitter, cynical, and angry Batman they created and the young Kal-El/Clark Kent that hasn't grown into Superman yet.Max Power said:
I'm really looking forward to this movie. I'm hopeful this helps DC figure things out. Rather than have a ton of restrictions, like Marvel, they can make a niche for themselves where they just hire great directors, like Gunn, and basically let them go nuts and create something singular and awesome. I don't think they need to make all the movies interconnected like Marvel does. Shazam was a surprising success, I enjoyed it as well. The first Wonder Woman is also a decent movie.
Edgar Wright was originally going to direct Ant-Man but after creative differences he left. I'd love to see Edgar Wright direct a Green Lantern film. If there's a guy whose imagination is tailor-made for a character like that, it's Edgar Wright. A superhero whose weaponry is only limited by his imagination.
DC tried to do the interconnected films with Batman vs Superman and Justice League, and they're terrible. If they concentrate on getting stand alone films right, maybe something comes along later organically for putting some of them together.
There's still a lot I like about Man of Steel, Snyder was pretty close to making a great Superman movie. With the right director and the right story Superman is easily a worldwide billion dollar franchise. I'd love it if DC got their act together and made the definitive Superman film at some point in the not too distant future.
They HAD to do it that way, though (or so they thought). Marvel was pulling all their heroes together in blockbusters like IW/Endgame, and even movies like Civil War. So DC had to pull their heroes together, too.Quote:

They didn't HAVE to. They rushed it all together thinking it would make them money because it made Disney money. None of the movies leading up to Justice League said to a casual viewer that this collection of characters will be something you have to see. The Snyder Cut wound up being a decent movie I thought, but thats because we needed 4 hours of character development to occur because the previous movies didnt do any of that.MooreTrucker said:They HAD to do it that way, though (or so they thought). It was a terribad idea and the results were awful, but they buckled under the pressure.
