Reads like it was individual artists not a pre formed band. Pretty impressive.
Considering Severance films in New York state/the northeastern part of the country, my guess in this instance would be that it's a band/performers in that general area. The cost to fly/lodge an entire band from California would be a lot more than casting locally. Then again, it's Apple and this show's budget is insane, so who knows.
Oh that's a great point. I'm sure grok wasn't taking that into consideration since it listed proximity to studios as a primary reason the USC band is in so many shows and films.
Tillman also has a HBCU background which sounds like played a role in how the scene was planned.
The finale had so many great scenes, but this just had me rolling. My wife just had that wtf look on her face the whole time, but it was just so good. Milchik is an amazing character.
I just finished the season. The episode was great, but I do feel like it made most of the rest of the season just filler. The first six or seven episodes were all about reintegration. However, once they did the Gemma story, reintegration never really played in, and became more of an after thought. Outside of one line during the Mark conversation, reintegration didn't play into the final episode, despite it occupying sometime like 75% of the story in the first six episodes. We go into next season with Mark still not done with reintegration. I'm starting to worry that this show doesn't have as cohesive of a storyline as we originally thought.
Episode notes:
1. Mark S fell victim to a succubus. That's wasn't Helly R he ran off with, it was Helena Egan.
2. Dylan came through when the chips were down.
3. Patricia Arquette as Corbel is the strongest character in the whole show.
4. Sandra Barnhart cussed at Mark S like no one else can.
5. Season 3 starts with Helena Egan swimming laps then joining Mark S for an egg brekkie and a cuppa.
6. At Lumon, men can get pregnant too; the future is now!
7. They must have good HVAC at Lumon to prevent the goat ranch smell from permeating the whole building.
8. Was Gemma's hex-drive baby-bed tool standard or metric? (my money on metric)
9. Devon a reliable sister; very solid.
10. Did the 5x5 grid on the waffle pop-up card represent the 25 innies?

I agree, except I think there is a possibility it comes into play in a big way next season.
If season 3 is an innie rebellion and they hold up on the severed floor, then suddenly Mark's innie/outie flashes become quite interesting. Can outtie Mark actually take control sometimes on the severed floor and try to escape? Or did they start a process that is fatal if not completed and they have to finish it or both Marks die?
I think the reintegration is going to be the ticking bomb or plot device that provides a lot of the Mark conflict in season 3.

I agree it could come into play, but it's frustrating that they made season 2 all about reintegration only to completely forget about it for the last four episodes. They could have at least have him flash to the Outie world as he's escaping, or something like that. You could throw out the first six episodes of the season, and it makes no difference for the last four. It's like it was two different seasons.

It is neither. It is Lumetic. Kier himself saw the measurements when he was exploring a cave as child. The measurements are mysterious and important.
I feel like we are on a crash course for either Helly or Gemma dying at the end. I lean towards Helly sacrificing herself (or her innie side) to take down Lumon but Mark fully reintegrates so he still has the memory of her but ends up with Gemma.
I love the FTAB but the one downside of having a military marching band is that seeing the band recreate the band scene from the finale at a halftime show is basically zero percent.

If you know women, you know there's zero chance Gemma forgets that Mark left her to join Hellie, even if it was his Innie form. That relationship is doomed.

I think it lived in viewers' minds more than it played out on screen. Episodes 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, and 10 had nothing to do with reintegration at all, aside from a half-second glimpse of Gemma in Episode 4. Episode 7 wasn't about it either, but I left it off the list since he was in flashback mode because of it. In the other episodes where it was 'featured,' it was still only sprinkled in for a few minutes of those episodes.
It was a dead-end (for now) that he took, which viewers assumed would play a bigger role than it did, but I doubt it took up more than 30 minutes of screen time for the entire season.

And to make it more realistic they needed to add a small child who is responsible for keeping track of the screws but looses them constantly leaving Gemma no choice but to cuss them out
This cast interview post finale is pretty fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed the anecdotes. I also found it interesting that the cast and even Stiller has been somewhat blown away by the level of detail in the show. For example the "waffle card" was just something someone in prop design came up with on her own. He hadn't seen it before and it wasn't in the script.

- back when Helly first joined the team and she tried walking out that exit door, I don't recall that it locked behind her once she went in to the stairwell. I thought she could just open it and walk back in, but outtie Gemma couldn't do that. And the handle on the outside of the door in the stairwell didn't seem to match the type on the inside of the door.
Milchick was in the stairwell with Helena and had to open the door for her to go back inside the severed floor.

Bet Helena develops a thing for innie Mark. All kinds of juice there between Mark innie outtie, Casey, Helena, and the Eagans.
1. There is no chime when Helly/Helena arrives on the severed floor. Again, it seems too obvious, but it's Helena all along in the finale. If that's not enough evidence, she names countries that she wouldn't know and quite literally meets Mark at the equator to prevent him from leaving with Gemma. Helena has all the motive to prevent Jane from whatever ascendence/transcendence is about to occur. It's Helena, and Helly's love of mark has transcended the barrier. There will be more of this love issue in S3 between Gemma, Casey, Marko, Marki, Helly, and Helena
2. There IS a chime when Jame arrives for the Cold Harbor room ceremony. So we know now there are multiple versions of him.
3. The blood ritual to acquire frolic from the innocent lamb is interesting, alongside all of the attempts to sever bad memories. That scene is quickly followed by Drummond, with folic tattooed on his hand, choking the life out of Mark. What would be interesting is if Lumon's original mission turned out to be of benevolent origin (corrupted along the way), as there were definite religious references in this finale. Also made me think back to Burt's thoughts on how he might get to Heaven
4. Mark reveals in the MDR scene that Cobel is severed - or some form of it. I also believe this is true for Milchek - his mirror scenes where he is talking to or looking at 'himself' I believe reveal this.
5. I still think MDR are refining their own experiences, through Gemma's chip, in each room. It may be that Lumon sends out refined replacements of each out person.
6. Russian angle still intrigues me. Too many clues there for it to not be involved as part of the origin story, but we don't know enough

No way they had such a major oversight in this show to not have the elevator ding. If it's not Helena herself, Helly R is becoming or has become Helena. She did recite that Jame came to see her at the severed floor, which Helena might not know

Another cool video interview with cinematographer and s2 ep7 director Jessica Lee Gagne. Lots of fun stuff in this one. One thing I thought was really cool: she shares that she was actually living in the house they shot in. I don't if this is a cost thing, or because she wanted to stumble on happenstance things like this, or maybe this is just a common ting...
In any case she shares that the scene with the police showing up with the lights rolling through the windows was her idea. The house is on a cul de sac, and one time she ordered pizza delivery and really liked the effect of the light through the divided windows as the car navigated the circle. The scene was originally written with Mark in bed, woken up by the knock on the door. She asked it to be re-worked so she could use this use this light effect.
She's got such a great eye. I'm sure there are many contributors in this respect, but I think the overall look and feel of the show really helps it work.
