someone explain how Barry is poisoned at one house by the widow (was that his army buddy widow?),

and then ends up in the car of the father of the first guy he murdered

how was that possible?
umm... did you watch the show?

He was still alive but barely there. He walked out and collapsed by a trashbin. The father of the first guy he killed found him there and decided to take him to the hospital.
Umm.. that's my entire freaking point.

he is in a alleyway in LOS ANGELES, a city of millions of people. and one of the guys looking to murder him just finds him.

which is why I asked if anyone knows how that was set up in the TV show.

This show is insane. The second half is way better than the first half.

It read like you were just asking how he ended up in the car, like you missed the scene of the guy finding Barry by the dumpster.

To your question, they've been showing/implying that Fuches was contacting the family of everyone that Barry has been hired to kill. So I guess the assumption is that he was following Barry that day.

Took a while to catch up while binging stranger things. Fuches being oblivious while being driven to the police station was a great callback to him refusing to give a DNA sample, then drinking from a can of coke in season 1.

Definitely a lot darker with fewer straight up laughs this year. The main characters having so few scenes together definitely is a switch

I think it was well done for what it is. It may have lost me, though. I kinda liked the mix of comedy and drama. When it's all dark drama, maybe not in my wheelhouse.

I can't remember a season of any show that was so all over the place (in a great way) with styles, emotions, drama, comedy etc. that final shot of him in the distance with his head semi down as everyone leaves with her picture in the foreground was genius.

Adam Carolla had Henry Winkler on his podcast a couple of months ago and he said that this season of Barry was actually the best dramatic acting he had ever done.

Did Barry pull the trigger right as the cops revealed themselves?

No I don't believe he did. Moss was still very much alive.

Yep, that final shot was incredible.

Hell of a finale.

I will never understand the critique of this season not being funny enough, not because I don't agree that it hasn't been as funny, but because what we *are* getting - the drama/filmmaking - is impeccable, and as good as anything else on TV.

That, and there's *still* humor, even in the most intense moments, like when whatever the hell that beast was was attacking whoever on the other side of the prison wall. I was cracking up at that, and same goes for everything the male cop at the police station says. "Haven't seen [Albert] since he stormed out of here and cocked his gun in front of us… he's probably out seeing the sites." That guy has at least a line per episode that is pure gold.

Intense finale. Entertained by the season but overall would grade season 3 at least a letter grade below 1 and 2.

I watch this show with subtitles to pick up the background dialogue, and right after he made the comment about Albert seeing the sites he had this barely audible (to me) throwaway line: "I wish he would take me."

Man, that was so intense. Realistic choking scenes are terrifying. Something about it really puts me in the place of the victim who is slowly coming to grips with what's happening, and that they won't escape. I don't even like her character, and that was rough. Are we supposed to know who the attacker was because I did not recognize him at all? Was he one of the dirt bike crew?

Small nitpick, you have to assume the pistol Barry took from Gene was empty. With his experience, stands to reason he would have either checked how many bullets were loaded or felt the difference in weight. Also, as an assassin, even if the cops knew Gene's gun was empty, they took a hell of a chance that Barry wouldn't be using a different weapon.

Like everyone, not sure where this goes now. So many people could go down if Barry starts talking, including his FBI friend who just let him go.

Yea, he was the guy who tried to toss the gun and said "catch", I'm pretty sure.

I think there is a realistic chance that the gun was loaded, and Jim Moss just took the calculated risk.

This season did an excellent job of portraying Barry's decaying mental state, and having it increase throughout the seasons.

Good finale, still feel meh on the season overall.

I think after the brilliance of Better Call Saul and Stranger Things this was lackluster in comparison.

I think its just harder to feel as excited about the season due to the subject material. I think it was easily as brilliant as Better Call Saul, but I definitely enjoyed BCS more.

Better Call Saul can get fairly dark at times too, so it's not the subject material. The characters and their plotlines just didn't suck me in very much, whereas I was so invested in what happened to Howard in BCS. Granted it's not fair to compare a half hour show to an hour long prestige drama.

But imo they're not even in the same league.

Oh and nitpick. We get like two episodes on the mom and her son who want revenge and then they never resolve their storyline? Are we just meant to assume the kid died?

Just an odd choice to devote so much time to characters who are thrown aside and never seen again.

I would say that Better Call Saul is not really in the same head space as Barry, or at least what Barry has slowly progressed towards.

Better Call Saul has some violent moments, sure, but Barry is dealing with a lot of mental trauma and the side effects that manifest from them. The show had the darkness present from the beginning, it was just handled in a more comedic manner for a while. That balance has slowly swayed to more like 80/20 towards the seriousness of it all.

You aren't the only one to not like this season as much on the thread, so I think it's definitely just a personal preference sort of thing.
