Ha, I don't at all. I just get so sick of seeing it on this board and not F16. It's really that simple.

I wish you'd stop caring. As long as films and actors are going to get political then expect a reaction from people. You attended a university with a student body that leans right of center, you moved to a city and work in an industry that leans overwhelmingly left of center. I don't get your need to stifle discussion about this, why not just simply stop caring what people have to say about it.

Worst type of people in that industry…no surprise it's a **** show.

A. Entertainment and politics are intertwined at times, which the Oscars are making clear. This isn't reddit and you aren't a mod.

B. It's because a lot of what comes out of Hollywood is increasingly politicized, so people react to it. And you're not a mod.

C. Unhinged? Far-right? Oh my! They aren't calling for violence against anyone. They're just reacting to political statements. Some of it makes me roll my eyes too....but it is within their right to express their thoughts on a message board. And , you're not a mod.

Never said I was mod. But mod after mod after mod has told us to keep the politics off of this board. That said, personally, I couldn't care less about normal political conversations here. It's the people looking to start sh*t, they're easy to spot, and we all know who they are.

I can get how there is a line and I don't envy the *actual* mods having to determine that. But it would seem like Sh** getting started wouldn't really start much if we could all just kind of do our thing and not feel the need to call each other names or tell people to leave or try to get threads shut down. Just be cool.

But again dude...you're on a board full of Texans....and you're in LA. All of the red spots on the Texas voter maps and half of the blue ones feel toward Hollywood how your friends feel toward us. Im not sure why you're surprised by that.

So the 16'ers that don't care at all about Hollywood or the Oscars abandoned their two page thread to come here and profess their disgust of an industry they don't support.

The only thing I'm "surprised" by is the incessant need to turn EVERY thread on this board into some kind of airing of grievances about politics in Hollywood. Again, normal political discussion, I could not care less about, and even enjoy it from time to time. What I'm taking about are the bad faith efforts to increasingly b*tch and moan and soapbox and virtual signal and rile up and all that blowhard nonsense. It's just incredibly disingenuous to not acknowledge how bad it's become here in that regard, and make it out to be like its just normal people giving normal political opinions, and I'm the hysterical one overreacting to it all.

I never said you're hysterical, you just seem weirdly dedicated to defending Hollywood and have been enabled as a deputized mod. Not sure why. I don't hang out here as often as some, but I don't really notice a TON of it except on threads which I'd kind of expect to find it (Oscars where political jabs are being taken a number of times, for example).

It's not "political threads." It's drive-by comments in all the otherwise normal, innocuous threads.

If these "entertainers" use their platform to bring up their political agendas, then discussion is fair game.
