The Oscars was scheduled to end at 10:00, but it dint end until 10:42. These award shows always end well past scheduled time. I didn't tune in to the Oscars until 9:00 because I was watching Fox animation shows: Simpsons, The Great North, Bob's Burger, and Family Guy.

Dear God is alopecia, not something that actually kills you. Making fun of alopecia or baldness is on the same thing as making fun of gingers.

Not for a woman. Maybe have just an ounce of empathy here. Yes, she's batsh*t crazy otherwise, but it was still uncalled for. As was Will's response. They're all in the wrong.

Yeah they're both wrong, but it's a joke and they'll all survive. I'll save my empathy for my patients when I get to tell them they have something much more life threatening than alopecia.

Posted on other thread that CR wrecked Jada at the 2016 awards - and deservedly so. The Smith family has been extremely self important for years.

Chris Rock also jokes about Jada randomly at 2016 Oscar's. There's probably a messy backstory here and they don't like each other.

Maybe she's just not a very good person.

She isn't. She's a lying, cheating hoar who Will should've tossed to the curb years ago.

Should've said he was sorry and followed it up with "Honestly Jada, nothing compares to you."

Unrelated note, how does Dune win everything it won and not win Best Picture

Also, how does it win every technical award under the son, but the director - the one person in charge of all those technical aspects - isn't even nominated.

As I said in my post, would have been surprised if he had.

Also, I find it hilarious that when I googled who the winners were, tonight, the first headline i see is about the first openly queer woman of color winning best supporting actress.... ROFL. I mean... when is this kind of **** gonna end? At some point, can't we just be people who earn things?

Good to see Jomboy has moved on from his Astro bashing because this is pretty good. Especially where Rock starts "man I could …" and then takes the high road.

The correct solution to this situation was pistols at dawn. But Will F'ed it up by not using a glove.

The silver lining? Thankfully for Jada and other alopecia sufferers, the world will have a dramatic increase in alopecia experts and will be able to find free advice on all social media platforms.

It's gonna start getting like those super specific sports stats, "first openly woman of color, whose name ends in N to win best supporting actress in an odd numbered year"

We can just be people who earn things when people like you stop calling it out and rolling your eyes at it. Who cares? There are people out there who find value and hope in seeing people like themselves achieve things like this. And that's perfectly fine. The more normal it becomes, the less there will be a need to draw attention to it.

Me: nothing...
Hollywood: THE FIRST OPENLY QUEER WOMAN OF COLOR TO WIN AN ACTING AWARD.
Me: "Rofl... what?"
Hollywood and TCTTS: WE ONLY DO THIS BECAUSE YOU CALL IT OUT AND ROLL YOUR EYES.

... I mean... you have to see how stupid that is. Are you that crazy?

But why even the "Rofl… what???"

It's not about you, for you, or has anything to do with you. So why do you feel the need to inject an opinion at all?

Because I'm a living human who is a part of society? I believe it is in our nature to react to crazy?

You truly are delusional.

It's YOUR *opinion* that it's crazy, though. For a queer black or Hispanic girl, seeing someone like herself win an award like that can be EVERYTHING. For the same reason so many dads on this board have talked about how much Rey in Star Wars means to their daughters, this is the same thing. Seeing someone like yourself on screen, and then seeing that person celebrated by winning an award, shows that it's possible to achieve something like that, especially when it's literally never happened before. So why insert yourself and mock and roll your eyes and do everything you can to show the opposite of empathy for what is otherwise a cool moment for someone other than yourself?

Basically all I've done is bash Hollywood tonight, just as I've done many times before on this board, so we can officially put that narrative to bed…
