Yeah. This is really a 2 person show and they have two superstars just knocking this out of the park.

Oscar Issac and Ethan Hawke really are just eating everyone in the MCU's lunch

Interested to see what twists about the personalities. I've never read any Moon Knight, and I know they've departed in some ways anyway, but I'm guessing Marc is the "real" person and he created Steven so he could live life as a good person.

He had that line about "I've been able to keep a wall between us.." or maybe it was "you have been able..." Maybe they've both always existed? I'm curious to know how long Steven has been in London, and what kind of memories he has of his life there.

Mark's wife mentioned something about him speaking with his mom again. More questions there - is she real? Does she know he has 2 personalities? Does she think Steven is just some weirdo calling her and she hasn't blocked his number yet? Is Steven even calling a real person?

I think Marc goes out of his way to help Steven. He got him a date with the hot tour guide. He replaced his fish. He doesn't have a relationship with his own mom so he sends postcards and set up a phone number for a manufactured one for Steven.

And being Steven gives him a break from dealing with the evil Spy vs Spy god.

I'm now not so sure that either Mark or Steven are "real", and it could be a third personality that we haven't really seen yet that set up the date. Doesn't make much sense to set up a date that "Steven" doesn't know about and then cause him to miss it. She just happened to run into him at the museum right?

I think there's maybe a third personality, that actually intended to go on the date, and that one is the "real" one that originally belonged to this body.

EDIT: Didn't realize she also works at the museum. Still think there's another personality at play though.

For those of you interested, this little article lays out some of the differences in costumes and personalities from the comics to what we're seeing in the show so far.

https://nerdist.com/article/moon-knight-magical-suit-mr-knight-persona/

And this one gives a breakdown of the personalities from the comics.

Edit to avoid potential spoilers I guess.

Spoilers from the comics in terms of identity. Although maybe Marvel goes a different route.

Marc Spector is the dominant personality. Steven Grant & Jake Lockley (if they bring him in) are the alternate personalities

I had never heard of this character, but I like creative stories, and so far I'm intrigued where this all goes.

So count me in.

On episode 1 and I'm loving it so far. Definitely the most intriguing first episode of all the Marvel shows thus far.

Really hoping these comic people on this thread refrain from spoilers. I enjoy reading theories from others, like the third personality theory above. But then jeffk posts a link to references about "all the personalities from the comic." That's a spoiler, dude. We viewers don't know if there are more than 2, and have not had much reason to think that other than just spitballing theories..

Please be careful posting theories related to comic book stories if you have read them.

I intentionally posted links instead of spelling it out in text in order to avoid spoiling anything for those not interested. I even described the information in the links to make sure folks knew it revealed information from the comic. If you read my post and then clicked the link it was because you wanted to see what was in the comics about the character's personalities.

I'm sorry if you feel you had something spoiled there, but I think I did my best to prevent that on the show thread.

I really like the way they're representing Khonshu - had the potential to be real hokey and dumb, but they've successfully made him menacing and mysterious so far. Loved the scene where Steven and Harrow were eating together and he was "throwing a tantrum."

You missed his point. He didn't click on the link. He's saying that when you said "all the different personalities", you spoiled it for those of us who have no reason to think that there's more than 2 personalities. Not a huge spoiler, but it is nonetheless.

Oh, he's upset I used "all" instead of"both"? That's even more trifling of a complaint than I thought he was making originally.

Edit - I've gone back and edited my earlier post, but if you're really worried about something being a spoiler, you don't go quote it in subsequent posts. Sorry for the thread derail - I'm done.

I know, I know, don't get all huffy.

This board has proven time and time again that threads about ANY show where's there's backstory/prequels/comics/whatever are almost impossible to maintain spoiler-free, mostly because posters' definition of "spoiler" differ.

My gosh, no thread proved that more than 'The Walking Dead'. I checked out of that show years ago (and should've checked out even sooner) but it seemed like 80% of the posts were arguments about what constitutes a spoiler from the comics.

Walking Dead? Try Game of Thrones! I think for a while there was three different GOT threads going for varying levels of spoilers.

I will never ever understand the type of person who is so sensitive to spoilers that someone even saying "all the personalities" gets their panties in a wad. It's probably best to avoid any online discussion of a show if you're going to get upset at that level of "spoiler". Sheesh.

I get that it's a spoiler, but is it really a surprise that there are more personalities in there? Certainly not to the point of needing to derail this thread.

Also, Walking Dead was a comic book?!?!?!?!

I think you're inevitably going to have some of these debates on any MCU thread, which is fine, it's just a good reminder to consider if what you're posting could be a spoiler.

Not like it's a huge deal, it's just a good reminder to think about it.

Maybe the pain keeps Harrow focused? If he has a similar multiple personality thing, maybe the pain keeps the dominant personality focused so the others don't take over or something?

That was my initial thought, but not in the traditional "religion" sense I guess.

Yeah I think that's definitely the simplest answer, that it's just some weird religious thing and maybe there's no need to revisit it.

I was just trying to think of something a little outside the box, especially since they did open the show with it.

Hearing someone called a "donut" in an English accent will never not be funny to me.
