Seeing as this site is made up mostly of Kens, I have no idea how much engagement this thread will actually get. That said, considering the movie itself is getting rave reviews, legit Oscar talk, and is set to open to an insane $110M+ (with some projections even as high as $140M), I figured we might as well have a thread for it, with fan screenings beginning tonight and the official release tomorrow.

I won't be seeing it myself until Sunday afternoon, with a group of friends, including one who was in charge of the marketing campaign, a campaign I've seen referred to multiple times now as one of the best movie marketing campaigns of all time, which is so incredibly cool to see. They knew exactly how best to hype this thing, and knocked it out of the park. The Barbenheimer of it all certainly didn't hurt either.

Men. Dudes. Who aren't as inclined to go see a movie clearly aimed primarily at women.

I'm poking fun at a grown ass man referring to men as "Kens". Relax.

Just saw an early access screening. Easily one of my favorite movies of the year.

Saw it in early screening. Not top 10 but still good.

What a steaming pile of **** that was. Just a terrible film. I own over 3,000 movies on physical media and will not be adding that one lol.

Worst movie I've seen in theaters in a long time and I've probably seen 10 in the last 2 months alone.

Wife, 13 yo daughter and sister also hated it.

Guess I should stick to the patriarchal Godfather and other 70s movies

I'm taking my daughter, 13, and two of her best friends for tomorrow afternoon.

I am female and played with Barbies. But I am not a terribly girly girl. Will try to remember to report back.

It was okay. Dragged a bit at the end. Whoever did the set design should win an Oscar.

I'm truly sad that parents are taking young kids to this, now that I fully understand what it is.

My wife and her friends saw this last night and all had the same opinion. 75% of it was good but the last act sucked.

With quirky "out there" movies, it seems more and more often that when Hollywood LOVES it, I tend to hate it. It's almost a direct inverse correlation.

I'm all for weird and out there movies. Just wasn't as funny or clever as it was trying to be. Having the entire plot be about patriarchy was tiresome. They were trying waaaaay too hard to be progressive. Example: Barbie gets cat called and slapped on the ass upon entering the real world followed by a teen girl calling Barbie a fascist 5 minutes later. It wasn't a Barbie movie. Barbie was just the vehicle they used to preach their ideology on you for 2 hours. Whether you are left, right or center politically it just came across as preachy to me and thought it was a terrible movie.

I figured the fact that it was a Greta Gerwig directed film was a dead giveaway that it wasnt a "Barbie" movie. I have a feeling the marketing wont match the messaging of the film.

Nolan went in for the killshot and included in his movie the only thing dudes getting dragged to Barbie were hoping to see.

Same here...just not some of the weird out there ones that Hollywood sometimes slobbers over.

Yeah, a hardcore progressive being praised endlessly by other hardcore progressives as a "bold genius" over a movie about toy dolls should have been a screaming red flag in hindsight.

Ungrateful leftists should be PRAISING the patriarchy and thanking them for the roofs over their heads, for their cars, their electricity, building civilization, for keeping society running etc etc etc. But they're too narcissistic and self obsessed and hellbent on making up "struggles" because we have it so easy here...almost entirely thanks to "the patriarchy" lol.

Dylan Mulvaney plays one of the Barbies. When I heard the voice, I thought to myself that is obviously a man.

Barbie and Ken are being cat called by construction workers in the real world and Barbie tells them that , "I don't have a vagina and he does not have a *****."

Kate McKinnon is fantastic as weird Barbie . That one Barbie that almost every girl has in her collection who has been played with a bit too hard… "makeup" has been applied with ink and hair has been cut.

I'm pretty conservative and I didn't think it was toxically woke. Barbie was just met with the realization in the real world that women didn't run everything and not everyone was nice and happy.

All that said, the girls didn't think it was that great. I won't watch it again, either.

I was most annoyed by Dylan Mulvaney's presence in the movie. I believe that he's an idiot who's out there portraying a caricatures of what it is to be a woman and the establishment has swallowed him hook line and sinker.

Y'all take things way too seriously. It was a fun bubble gum movie- Ryan Gosling personally stole the show for me. Mojo Dojo Casa House will be in my head for the next week at least.

I'm gonna beach you off! No! I'll BEACH YOU ALL OFF

The dichotomy from Oppenheimer last night to this was really fun. Why we go to movies.

The part about men liking the Godfather was pretty funny.
