The funny thing is that, in my mind, you, Porkchop, and ZJS are all the same person. It's like the movie Split.

And to make everyone else angry, there are 11 (and possibly 12) movies listed in the 2001 vs. 1989 matchup that are better than The Empire Strikes Back.

I will say that Tangled is better than all the movies except maybe The Social Network on the 2010 list.

I like Tangled, but you seem to have overlooked a little movie called Toy Story 3.

No I didn't. I like Tangled much better. Flynn Rider will be a #1 regional seed in 2032's TexAgs "Porkchop's Favorite Fictional Characters" tournament

Absolute crap seeding for 1985 to get a #16 seed. Ugh. And to get put against #1 1994 right off the bat - honestly feels a little intentional. Hmmmm. Since I was railing for 1985 over OPs 1982 in the previous thread.

But whatever. It wasn't going to win.

Todays matchups were tougher... and I ended up voting for more higher seeds when it came down to it. Compared to yesterday.

All in all some great matchups though.

Oh and it sucks that 1962 (which dominated) now gets cinderella 1977 the #16 seed that pulled off the upset big.

I know what I'm voting for there and it isn't close.

That wasn't me talking up 1982. I really don't care which year wins, especially once big trouble in little China didn't make the cut for 1986.

Negative, ghost rider.

2007 should have been a final four contender at the very least...

- American Gangster
- The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
- Atonement
- The Bourne Ultimatum
- The Darjeeling Limited
- Gone Baby Gone
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- Hot Fuzz
- Hot Rod
- Knocked Up
- Michael Clayton
- National Treasure: Book of Secrets
- No Country for Old Men
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
- Ratatouille
- Superbad
- There Will Be Blood
- Transformers
- Zodiac
- 3:10 to Yuma

Irrelevant. And I disagree.

Regardless, in context, 2007 still features…

Five of the greatest dramas of the century:
- The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
- Michael Clayton
- No Country for Old Men
- There Will Be Blood
- Zodiac

Three of the best comedies of the century:
- Hot Fuzz
- Knocked Up
- Superbad

And some damn good blockbusters:
- The Bourne Ultimatum
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
- Ratatouille
- Transformers

… one of which would go on to spawn one of the most lucrative franchises of the century.

2007 is easily one of the greatest cinematic years in decades.

42 people agreed with you! Unfortunately the other 57 did not.

You can't stick up for HP and OOP though. There is literally no plot except "search for thing that we never explain what it is and then it gets destroyed before we find out." It's up there with the Rose/Finn/BB8 misguided fetch quest in The Last Jedi

Just hit 100 votes for the day. Will leave it open until early Monday morning just in case.

There's a 3 vote difference in one matchup, the next closest margin is 11, but rather leave it open then try and start a new round on Sat / Sun.

Thanks again to all who participated.

Accurate. Every Harry Potter movie after Prisoner of Azkaban is progressively worse than the one that preceded it. Culminating in actually bad movies. Goblet of Fire is still watchable, but it's the last one.

Pirates movies have the same problem, except they get bad after the first one.

Transformers would have been bad except Megan Fox was Megan Fox.

Saturday update, one matchup from Friday is still separated by just 1 vote. Voting will end at 7 AM Monday and the next round will commence very soon after as I'll be out all day.

Pre-loaded the Round of 32 matchups for Monday. Other than 2-3, I have no idea which way they'll go, which is always a blast.

The Day 2, Round of 64 results are in! Someone make sure TC isn't near any sharp objects or high open windows.

While the top 2 seeds in each region survived, that's where the normalcy ended. The lower seed won every matchup from #3-#8 in the Marvin in the Face bracket, and 3 more did likewise in the Mr. Anderson bracket.

The narrowest margin of victory came at the #3 vs. #14 matchup between 2003 and 1983, with the 1980s being down with the ladies, taking a 50.9%-49.1% victory thanks to the likes of Clark W. Griswold, Tony Montana, Luke Skywalker and Chuck Yeager.

In the same region, #13 1976 crushed #4 2004 with 78% of the vote, and #12 1986 overcame an early deficit to take out the powerhouse duo of T2 and Silence of the Lambs, a 65.1%-34.9% victory.

The biggest blowout of the day came from #11 1984, which got a staggering 96.1% of the vote to steamroll #6 1968. Charlton Heston was heard screaming at voters, "DAMN YOU! YOU BLEW IT UP! DAMN YOU TO HELL!"

The 1980s muscle kept cruising with #10 1980 taking out #7 1992 by a 57.1%-42.9% win, propelling all three of the years of the Star Wars OT all double-digit seeds into the second round.

In the Mr. Anderson bracket, voters proved that blowing **** up, like in The Rock and Independence Day, is much more important than psychological mumbo jumbo like Black Swan and Shutter Island, taking a 53.8%-46.2% win.

The 1980s flexed its muscles again with #13 1989 overpowering #4 2001 62.3%-37.7%. A fan favorite, 1982, crushed 2011, with 77.4% of the vote.

In sad news, I made a ha-ha about one film's title in the balloting and nobody said anything. Could my family be right and I'm actually NOT funny?

All the results!
