Gonna do exactly what I said I wouldn't and review other 1993 and 1994 movies, because that is an impossible task.

- Fire in the Sky
- In the Line of Fire
- The Firm
- The Pelican Brief
- What's Eating Gilbert Grape
- Carlito's Way
- Menace II Society
- Demolition Man
- Judgment Night
- Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
- Grumpy Old Men
- The Program
- Rudy
- Rookie of the Year

- Cliffhanger
- Free Willy
- Hot Shots! Part Deux
- Robin Hood: Men in Tights
- Dave
- Dazed and Confused
- So I Married an Axe Murderer
- Mrs. Doubtfire
- Sleepless in Seattle
In addition to Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, The Professional, True Lies, Dumb & Dumber, Speed, Interview with the Vampire, Legends of the Fall, 1994 has:
- The Mask

Conclusion: This has made it no easier.
Agreed. I didn't read anything (as always) prior to heading to the voting and decided this was impossible to decide:
1993 vs 1994
I literally cannot decide which is better. And 20 other movies did not help that at first glance.
You got several all time greats there:
1994 - Pulp Fiction and Shawshank
1993 - Schindler's List and Tombstone
Plus each has their own summer blockbuster giant Jurassic Park and Forrest Gump
Each has their own comedic genius in Dumb and Dumber or Groundhog Day
Each has their own crime films The Fugitive and True Romance vs the Professional and Natural Born Killers
1994 might have an advantage in action movies - Speed and True Lies
but
1993 has an advantage in legal thrillers The Firm and Pelican Brief
Each has their westerns, spoofs, dramas, political thrillers, and period pieces.
Literally the only thing that I saw that could distinguish 1993 above 1994 is Dazed and Confused. As of now thats the only possible tiebreaker I see. But is it enough?
Oof.
The other race is literally so easy and I love SW and even Close Encounters. But come on. 1995 is a monster.
