Didn't she die because she thought it was a good idea to break into the US Capitol building by breaking a window and going in through it?

Seems like a play stupid games, win stupid prizes scenario.
That's a death sentence? Say her name!!!!

Funny how libs heads are exploding over their own hypocracy.

And conservatives are calling her a martyr is justified?

Climbing thru a broken window in the Capitol, when the doors have been barricaded, is a stupid move.
I'm pretty sure that set of barricaded doors was a redline of sorts, past which lethal force would be used. Maybe that's where they were hiding Pence?

The window she crawled through was the last line barricade between the protesters and the legislators that were locked down and under protection of law enforcement. The protesters had entered the building without clearing security. I have no doubt the police were under strict shoot on site orders for anyone coming through that barricade.

It is an unfortunate circumstance, but the police today were as lenient as they possibly could have been under the circumstances. They let the protesters roam the halls so long as they did not try to enter the barricaded area where our elected officials were locked down, even knowing that the protesters might be armed since they had largely bypassed any sort of security screening.

Only one person tried to enter the barricaded area where the human targets were under police protection, and they paid for that mistake with their life. Had protesters not overwhelmed the security protocols at the Capitol, police probably would have had the luxury of arresting her instead of shooting her. But that's not what happened. Police has no choice but to assume the unauthorized intruders were armed. Police showed as much restraint today as they possibly could under the circumstances. This woman just went one step too far.
This is maybe the best explanation of what happened today I have read. Basically every single elected official at a federal level, except for the President, was in the building when this started. This is unlike any other event from the past year. The ability of the country to govern at a federal level was at risk. Whataboutism be damned, this was playing a stupid game. This is sad beyond belief on so many fronts. It's sad that a veteran was shot and killed. It's sad that populism, not communism or socialism or racism, has resulted in this crap.

This isn't Republicans vs. Democrats, this is sanity vs. insanity. That's not me saying one side is sane and one side is insane, this is about individuals. Individuals decided to brake into the Capitol, individuals decided to break into the chambers of both the House and Senate, individuals decided to attempt to break through the baracade where those who have been elected to represent the people by the people were being protected. If you think the solution to this is more violence or succession, then you are part of the insane. It's not happening, because nobody wins if that occurs. Nobody has jobs, money, homes, families, or any of the things anyone thinks the other side is going to take from them when violence begins to rule the day.

There are merits to both conservative and liberal tenants, that's why there are so effing many of each side. But this is crazy. The most amazing thing about this country is that we have had a peaceful transfer of power for over 200 years every 2 years in some manner. This is an attack on that and it's the saddest thing of all.

Thank you.

If only everyone could take a deep breath and read this with clarity, our country would be a better place. It's so sad to me that ***extremists on both sides*** have fallen prey to leaders hell bent on destroying democracy.

Yesterday the world watched in HD as one such group, incited by leadership clearly guilty of insurrection, broke countless federal laws and destroyed their futures. Similar can be said for those who committed crimes in other cities this past summer.

It's all so sad and no one is finding more gratification from it than our enemies around the world who set the whole thing in motion.

Actually I think she died today because she was at a protest and then attempted to enter into the chamber through a window that her fellow rioters had just smashed with a chair.

If she and her fellow idiots in the hallway hadn't done that, she'd be alive just like everyone else who gained entry into the capitol today.
Then she should be arrested and not executed.

If it was a black BLM protesting breaking into the inner chambers by force, trying to get to our representatives, most here would have no issue mowing them down in a hail of bullets.

And I wouldn't blame the police for using lethal force

I would be much more inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt if they only attacked those that deserved it, like Congress, instead of burning down small businesses and everything else. The former is an actual attack on those in power while the latter is attacking people who have zero power and destroying their livelihoods.

For example, Occupy Wall St was a far more Nobel endeavor than BLM because it was going after a seat of real power.

Whether it's Antifa destroying federal buildings in the PCW or Ammon Bundy occupying the federal building in Oregon for over a month, you can't think the Capitol will be treated the same. It absolutely shouldn't need to be stated the ****ing US Capitol is on a completely different level, especially when the top 500 elected officials (outside of the president) are in the building. As stated several times already, LEO was willing to let them stay in the building, until they tried to cross that barricade. It's sad, but it was necessary.

I thought antifa should have been gunned down where they stood nation wide.

I also believe this woman knew better than trying to go through that entry way and is at fault for her killing.

Fair enough.
Thing is, they weren't.

Thing is, rioters, looters and murderers weren't. Anti-Kav protestors invaded the capital building and were celebrated. Mobs destroyed federal property and were not gunned down.

Thing is, all you hypocrites said nothing then. The media covered for them. Dem pols covered for them.

The dude that was paralyzed going back to his car and reaching for something under his seat was made a martyr.

what do you mean "they weren't"?

if a person believes that all law breakers should be shot dead if they disobey an order - both those who steal, kill and destroy like antifa, and those who don't like this lady who was simply trespassing, then that's not hypocrisy.

I'm not saying I agree with his opinion, but I can't claim he's being a hypocrite, regardless of how over the top that opinion is.

Let it go, folks. Don't batter down doors if the cops have their guns drawn.

To the extent it is analogous somehow/racial, it's the same way I felt about Breanna taylor. If you have a drug dealer over and he shoots at cops...oh well. No statues for you, if hit in the crossfire.

Sad day. I'd like to consider myself a conservative and I truly love this country.

I've been sick to death of experiencing the double standards and the condemnation that Hollywood, the media, and the Democrats openly display against conservatives. For the last couple of years, these people have publicly embraced (or at the very least, remained very, very quiet) rioting, looting, and political violence - as long as it pushed their agendas.

All of that said, I would be just as bad as the "progressives" whom I heartily disagree with, if I gave a pass to people committing the same acts of violence in the name of things that I believe in. Tragic, yes - but shame on the people who thought it was okay to storm our nation's capital.

The people's house doesn't have an open front door. Once you enter like the way these people entered, you've earned whatever may happen.

terrorist
- a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims

If you dont think breaking into the capitol to try to put a stop or delay congress certifying the election votes isnt an act of intimidation in the pursuit of political gain, you have your trump blinders on.

If it was a bunch of radical Muslims trying to breach a locked and barricaded door in the Capitol, I think it's safe to say none of us would have an issue with them catching a bullet. Ashli did the same thing, so what's the issue?

Armed police men were at the barricade doors leading to hallway where government officials were barricaded and saying do not enter. She proceeded to climb up and attempt to enter through a busted window. Do you think she wanted to enter to go have a chat with an official?
