When you have been adjudicated as having raped someone and then making defamatory comments about it, the legal recourse is to APPEAL. If you comment on the case, you can say "I disagree with the verdict and maintain my innocence, we are pursing an appeal." Go beyond that and you're playing with fire.

Our system works this way: a jury found that Carroll proved Trump had sexually abused and defamed her by a preponderance of the evidence. The jury listed to all of the evidence from both sides. You didn't. Then a judge made an award based on that finding. You may not like the law, but that's the way it works.

Now, a smart man would would, at this point, shut up. But Donald Trump is a stupid man who has never had to pay for any misdeed, a man who has screwed so many people out of money --- literally ---- and never once faced consequences. This is a man who bragged that he could sexually assault women and get away with it because he's "a star." So he kept talking, despite --- I'm sure --- his lawyers telling him that if he did so he would face another suit.

What do you mean? He just lost the 5 million dollars that he put up for this appeal and now has to pay 83.3 million. If he appeals, he'll have to bond that 83.3 million, which he'll lose when the case is again adjudicated. The only question is whether he's stupid enough to do it. My bet is that he is because, let's face it, his stupidity knows no bounds.

Civil lawsuits simply do not require "conclusive" proof. They really acquire only "a preponderance of the evidence"…"more likely than not."

in this case, that means that the judicial system has determined that it is "more likely than not" that she is telling the truth, and Donald Trump is lying.

I kinda agree. He didn't even attend the first trial which was more important. He made every effort to attend this one and knowingly kept talking. He hired a campaign cheerleader instead of a legit lawyer.
